Really? I was taken aback at that last reveal at the end. It definitely changed Walt's character entirely for me.

It kinda seemed obvious to me. Gus had no reason to do it, Walt had every reason to do it. And Walt's been long established as a scum bag so it wasn't unexpected that he'd be capable of something like that

I just wasn't expecting him to sink that low. But I guess he's now Gus, really, and that should make Season 5 interesting.

Downton Abbey :bow

I haven't cheered and teared up over a television show in some time. I should probably be embarrassed as this second season feels a bit soap opera-ish at times, but I'm not. Amazing television :bow

Its so good. And they've done such an excellent job of not taking the predictable/ludicrous turns that 24 would have. And Danes and Lewis are fucking killing it.

Brody not being the plant and the other guy being alive is a good twist but I'm worried about the payoff. Don't know what advantage AQ had to make everyone think he was dead.

Been watching Downton Abbey with CG. It is soap operay with a british heritage look. I've been hooked on it though. The second season is way more soap opera-y. Maggie Smith battling it out with other old ladies is awesome.

Yea, the second season really dialed up the soap-ish stuff, whereas the first felt like straight up drama. Can't say I like how convoluted Mr. Bates' storyline becomes as the writers create hurdle after hurdle for him  :-\

but yea, amazing show, my favorite in some time. How far are you into S2? I have one more episode to go

Spectacular Spider-man cartoon was great.  Don't remember (or never knew...can't remember) why it was canned, but maybe it's because of the ultimate spider-man cartoon coming.  Anyway, Josh Keaton is probably favorite voice actor for spider-man.

this is the brief clip of the ultimate show:

Yeah, I would call the first season a straight drama while the second season relies more on crazy things happening.

I just finished the season 2. I feel like they've gone away from Mr. Bates in the second season. Even though he has his own storyline, Bates' story seems to have removed him from the main problem in the storyline, and he was out of the house for episodes at a time as well.

I randomly watched an episode of Batman the brave and the bold today and it turned out to be the last episode of the series.  Like, I've never seen a single episode before.  I was flipping through channels and Abraham Lincoln and Batman were fighting a robot John Wilkes Booth, so, I said what the hell and kept watching.

The rest of the episode was Batmite trying to turn the Brave and the Bold into the world show by having a bright red Bat-luge, Ted Mcginley, Batman's wife and daughter, Scrappy-do as the Bat-dog, change in location to Malibu, and finally, Batman using two handguns to fight off Gorilla Grod.  Ambush Bug tries to convince Batman to fight against Batmite but Batman didn't realize he was a fictional character.  At one point Batman was questioning the meaning of life if his life was a cartoon show.  The ultimate resolution was doing it all for the fans, but it was too late and there was a shot of cartoon network executives canceling the show anyway.  Then there was a teaser for a serious CG Batgirl cartoon where she's fighting Firefly.  Batmite was all happy about it until Ambush Bug helps him realize that he has essentially committed suicide because his existence was linked to the show he helped cancel.  The final scene shows all these DC characters standing around as people dismantle the cartoon set.  Batman looks at the screen and is like "yo, I'm dying, but don't be sad, kids."  All the characters (maybe 50+) wave and the show just cuts to credits.

 :S

oh, and pee wee herman voices batmite, and at one point batmite references the fact that he is voiced by pee wee herman.  and Ted Mcginley defends the Happy Days shark jumping thing by citing his stint on Married with Children.

Just watched the first ep of Homeland. Wow. And after the episode there was this mini preview of the season, which I kind of wish I didn't watch. Although I must say I was pleased to hear a clip of Carrie saying "DAMMIT Saul, there is no TIME." oh indeed

Homeland is pretty wowsome. I'll reserve judgement until the season is complete but it seems like almost every episode is just better and better and makes me hopefull for a decent ultimate payoff to the season.

Hard to believe anyone involved with this even smelled 24 let alone were involved.

Just watched the previous week's Fringe, am about to grab last night's. I liked the tie-in between the fringe-event-of-the-week, and the larger arc with Peter. It was a little less subtle than the previous attempt at paralleling the main arc, and I doubt the resolution will have any kind of mirror in the resolution of this s4 arc. Still fun. Nice to see Olivia soften up /just/ a hair at the end.

I really need to start up Homeland.

Last night's Fringe was good, kinda shitty how it was the midseason finale instead of the intended midseason finale (where the preview seemed like it actually had to do with the overarching plot).

To be fair 24 had solid writers initially and a good show runner. The problem was that they spent so much time trying to top the first season's finale that they started focusing on twists and shocks over story. That led to a series of short sighted decisions that made the show exciting at the cost of long term plot development; characters were killed constantly leaving each new cast weaker, multiple storylines were botched to create drama, etc

That being said I still love the show to this day, and few people would deny the first and fifth seasons are amazing. Homeland seems rather restrained so far and it will be interesting to see how things progress

I have no idea why, but on a whim I downloaded a season of Spectacular Spiderman, and I've really been digging it.

I'm about eight episodes in. So far, every episode has introduced a new villain. We've had Vulture, Electro, Lizard, Shocker, Sandman, Rhino, Green Goblin and Dr. Octopus. All of the villains are way more powerful than Spidey, forcing him to use his speed, agility and ingenuity to win.

I really like this version of Peter Parker. I've found myself rooting for him a lot. His problems with the jocks at his school are very relatable, and it's frustrating when you know that he could wipe the floor with all of them at once, but has to hold back. This show really captures the internal conflict of having an alter-ego.

I thought I'd hate the art style, but I got used to it pretty quickly. I will say that I don't like this Harry Osborne very much. James Franco was the definitive Harry, IMO. I like how the show portrays Eddie Brock and Gwen Stacey though.

I love that show! a shame it got canceled.

Also marathonned several episodes of Supernatural, so I'm up to ep. 10 of Season 1 now. It is fluffy compared to X-Files or Fringe, but the dynamic between the brothers is growing on me, and I am anxious to see Henry Dean Morgan in his role as the dad.

It's all so predictable, sanitised and completely unrelateable. The only remotely interesting thing is Schmidt being a douche. I can understand why girls like it though.
