It's FOX. Unless it's Simpsons or by Seth MacFarlane, it probably won't last two seasons. Why isn't it on WB? Budget too high?

I liked the trailer. Gordon doesn't seem Gordon-ish to me but I'm probably too used to Oldman. I'm interested to see how they actually keep episodes interesting without having, well, anything really resembling Batman.

I thought Arrow was gonna be a supernova-scale bomb, so I'm trying to have a bit more faith this time.

Agreed. The first season is still my favorite and I love every time there's a poker scene with other comedians.

Smallville stars Superboy. So it still has what people find appealing about Superman in it. Gotham does not star Batman, and features a young Bruce Wayne. No one will care. More than that, by limiting itself to Gotham, they limit themselves to the chance they could show Bruce Wayne training to be Batman. But that would require being outside of Gotham, and...the show is called Gotham.

The premise behind the series is completely bone headed.

It will bomb. It will likely be a great show due to the staff running it, and I think its quality is the only chance it has at not being a commercial failure.

I think the former is more limiting than the name. Bruce Wayne isn't going to start training until like season five or six at best. That's probably even with some timeskips.

I doubt they actually have a plan other than "dude of the week MIGHT BE SOMEONE YOU RECOGNIZE" but would probably frame the series with the Wayne's murders and then Wayne taking up the cowl, so it'd be the last few seasons where he'd "train" and nobody will give a shit about the name.

There's another episode!? Oh my god!

I like Arrow. A lot. I watched all of s1 as I marathoned it over the weekend. Loved every episode in that season. It is a fun pulp superhero show mixed with procedural television formula and it really works. The flashback structure helped create a sense of mystery: "what happened on the island? What happens next?" that helped the show have a very addictive nature to it and it was endlessly entertaining even if it was cheesy pulp.

So far, season 1 is objectively better in almost every way than season 2. Season 2 almost makes me want to quit. The list in season 1 gave Green Arrow a direction. There's hardly any direction in this season so far and not nearly as many interesting plotlines. Merlyn coming back and revealing that he's Theah's father while coercing Mrs. Queen. Sound familiar? Sarah being alive and being trained by the League? Face palm worthy. Oliver being naive and thinking that everyone will be okay if he just throws a party for his mom, who is an accomplice in destroying a giant portion of the city? Pretty FUCKING STUPID, and out of character. Which, in a lot of ways, extends to almost every character in the show this season, from Laurel, to her father, and even Oliver himself.

To make things terrible. The flashbacks in season 1 kept me enthralled and captivated and addicted to the show. They were better than the present story. They're now boring me, especially since they've decided to double down on the romance and make Shado a romantic interest. They just couldn't leave a strong kick ass female character alone without having a man make her worth something, now could they? No. She needs Oliver cock, even though Oliver stares at a picture of the girlfriend he cheated on and regrets cheating on. But no, it makes TOTAL SENSE that Oliver hasn't made amends with that and just wants to continue fucking random women, even though he clearly said last season that he was done with his actions hurting other people. WHOOPS!

Never mind this whole Japanese super soldier plot line is fucking boring compared to the "hunted on an island with mercenaries plotline" as in s1. I get that it is a CW show, but fuck. Some of the writing in s2 has gone straight to terrible cheese ville as opposed to charming cheesville which the previous season embodied.

The great thing about s1 is that it felt like everything connected and had weight. S2 feels so filler-ish to me so far despite a lot of important stuff happening. Sarah turns up alive, and hasn't been mentioned in like three episodes. What was the POINT? I'm like 6 episodes into s2, and I can't recall ANY of the villains Green Arrow has taken down this entire season aside from The Count.

Sara in the league of assassins? I think that's when the show jumped the shark. Sara also on the island with Slade, Shado, and Oliver? Corny teen romance adventures.

Show is turning to shit. Hopefully s2 gets better.

s2 has less of the terribad romance stuff involving laurel and bro

Also, everything comes together towards the end of the season.

Daddy's Girlfriend Part... 2? I think? with the scene where Parker Posey is on the rooftop basically exposing her devil-may-care attitude that is subtly brought back down to reality by hidden, obscure insecurities was, bar none, my favorite moment of TV I've seen. She nailed it. Louie's reaction nailed it -- from happy to troubled all in a moment, as her carefree freedom sours in a flash.

The jazz outro is the creme-de-la-creme of the scene.

Daddy's Girlfriend was good. But I prefer episodes like Duckling and Niece. I really enjoyed season 2 the most. I need to rewatch the series though. I like all the seasons but I find 1 the weakest. You  guys going off on the premiere being like s1 sends bad vibes.

Arrow season one is good through most of the episodes (may be a few boring filler episodes here and there)

season two starts off pretty slow and dumb but midway through gets really good. Flashbacks wear out their welcome though.

I just realized I again watched the first season of The Wire without continuing with the rest of the series.  Actually, I watched the first 2 episodes of season 2 before I got bored. Or more like the first episode and like half the second.  The first season was pretty awesome, though.

Season one is just more compact and concise, it's basically about the police and the Barksdale organization only. The only real outside forces, Bubbles and Omar are still tied strongly to those two factions plotwise.
