I loved the first season of Eastbound and Down, but is the whole second season in Mexico? Because if if S2 is anything like the initial episode, it blows.

I didn't like the second or third season of Eastbound and Down, after being a big fan of the first.

The last season however, is fantastic.

I watched the first season of Sherlock and loved it. Benedict Cumberbatch and Martin Freeman are amazing.

Was it here that I heard only white people like the second season of the Wire or did I hear that from one of my pathetically few offline friends?

of the few white people i know -- mostly fellow students from the econ department so think hardcore ayn rand libertarians -- they all enjoyed season 2 the best  :-\

I'm pretty left-leaning, and I loved Season 2. But Seasons 3 and 4 are the best. 4>3>2>1>>>>>>5

Season 2 gets a lot better after the first few episodes. It starts out pretty rough, but IMO, it gets amazing by the end.

I've been rewatching The Wire and just got to season 2. It's really elegant at setting up the bigger picture and that's probably why it's usually people's favorite season. It does start off a bit boring though.

Is she really complex? She seems pretty typical for a church darling. Though I get the feeling there is some history with her going gaga over lost causes in the past.

It's more an inkling of where they'll take her after a certain scene in the first episode of season 2. Daniel is still very much the heart of the show and Aden Young was absolutely robbed of award nominations last year. He's giving a Cranston-level performance.

Legit teared up during that ending scene in the Rectify season opener. They keep nailing all these scenes you expect to be really sappy cheese. The only other show that comes to mind, where it's just all Heart are the really great eps of Friday Night Lights.

Rectify and FNL share a lot of DNA despite being in somewhat different TV eras (with a little overlap, as FNL ended in 2011). While most shows are concerned with dark anti-hero drama (BB, GoT, Walking Dead, Mad Men, et. al.), Rectify is a wholly optimistic and positive show about a man coming to life again after being imprisoned for so long. It's like a darker Enlightened.

And you're right, that final scene was magical. One of the few times a dream sequence has been elegant.

Wrapped up S1 of The IT Crowd. I giggled a bit, but am not sure whether or not to buy S2 or just continue YouTubing QI and NMTB instead.

Caught up on Penny Dreadful, and it's like they gave the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen the GoT-treatment - I like!
Haven't seen the season 2 starter of Defiance, but will because it's a shit show that I bought a game for.
I am not sure if I even bothred watching the end of season 1 of Defiance. I'll check out the s2 I suppose.
I never finished it. I like the two main characters, don't like the mayor or her sister, and the wraith/ghost family is universally annoying rather than "ooh, they're evil, I hate them."

I thought someone had brought up Rick and Morty here, but I'm not seeing it in the past few pages.
http://video.adultswim.com/rick-and-morty/
Essentially it is Dan Harmon retelling the Back to the Future relationship between Marty and Doc, but with added bloodshed, alcoholism, and Cthulhu mythos thrown in for good measure. It could end up being my new favorite thing.

Episodes are viewable online with ads, which has somehow MAGICALLY reneged on Adult Swim's "no soup for you" policy regarding Japan. I've just seen the first episode, and am assuming the rest will be as trouble free.

Watched the first episode of Bates motel.

I liked the odd/creepy mother son/relationship. But the high school drama stuff seemed very meh.

Also watched the pilot episode of The Last Ship. Yep. That's a michael bay produced tv show. Very mediocre. But its something I could imagine watching on a lazy sunday if they were running a marathon and my brain was numb.

nvm I finished the series on a TV streaming website. I can safely say that this is the best TV miniseries I've ever seen. the ending was perfect, the acting was succulent, and I desperately hope they bring it back for another series with a new cast. can't wait to see this show bowl over the Emmys, or for the inevitable physical media release which I will buy and repeatedly make love to.

I kinda felt a little bad for him during the Tawney scene, and wondering if they might be going for a conflicted sexuality angle with Ted Jr. Would be an interesting character arc given they're in Georgia and all, and the lack of ANY intimacy between him and his wife only enforces that angle.

But his ranting about Daniel possibly being a vegetable, and thus still existing and being such a burden as he'd gotten so used to being the prodigal son was pitiful & grating.

Ted Jr worrying that he is less desirable than a deathrow inmate in a coma tells you all you need to know about his confidence.

Though I find Tawny pretty lame as well. Stuck in the female fantasy of saving the brutal male. Explains how she hooked up with Assgrounds in the first place.

Seriously though. It's not your typical stoner comedy. And often times is more of a well-produced drama on a shoestring budget.

anyone catch The Leftovers last night on HBO? Heard the pilot was good but the premise could go wildly off the rails.
