OP : My brother is a deadbeat abusive skinhead living in my parents basement, I'm worried for them and it's terrible to feel powerless.

This is me. Well I'm not a neo nazi and I would never wish harm among my family or even go outside in the current environment, but I am a useless family member. I don't really contribute anything other than cleaning the bathroom, cleaning after the dog, and doing the recycling/trash.

Army families.... Why come home to get help when you already know what your "fascist" dad is like

The issue is you can't have a rational conversation with him.

Once he reads all his political shit at 6 in the morning, any chance for a rational conversation on anything is over, political or not.

I've given up trying to be rational with him and I'd rather just cut him out of my life entirely.

I came home to get help with anxiety (possibly PTSD) due to my time in the military and I've had more anxiety attacks since I got home then I did before I left, mainly due to the way my dad attacks everyone in this family who doesn't confirm to what he wants.

We have to walk on eggshells around him every morning just to avoid setting him off, and it could be anything that sets him off.
