Three protagonists, breh breh.I know, just a nitpick on my part.
So wait, people like that Devil Trigger song? Its the same schlock that was in DmC - you know, the game everyone apparently hates

DmC isn't a bad game at all, I liked the Xbox One version quite a lot. Playing as Vergil was a blast too.
It's also $10 right now for X1 on the MS Store and definitely more than worth it.

I get massive Trickstyle vibes from it... MAN that game blew.(https://i.imgur.com/pjM94kM.gif)

Am I the only one who thought about Back To The Future II here? :lol
Is that blue hair supposed to be Dante?Yeah, it's weird looking. Guess when you start out white you go dark as you age? :doge

New trailer with Dante footage. Release date is March 8th.
The graphics in this game look so good I keep wondering what the catch is.so far doesn't seem to be one. pc specs were released today and it doesn't require anything over the top (2013-era cpu and 960 to run at max)

Well at least Nero doesn't look homeless
Well at least Nero doesn't look homeless
:preach Hopefully there's an "Uncle Dante" costume in that Deluxe version.
But $80... :kobeyuck I mean I'm already buying the Bio2 remake deluxe for the classic outfits.
Honestly while Nero is cool and I love what I saw of him fucking hell I wish the three campaigns were Dante, Trish and Lady. Those three define the series for me.
I guess my biggest issue with Nero character wise is that he's pretty general anime character. I know Dante takes a lot of influence from Space Adventure Cobra but he also took a lot of influence from Action movies of the time, specifically Blade. Instead of half-vamp vampire hunter he's a half demon devil hunter. There's so many strange influence elements to Dante including Dante's Inferno. I just find him more distinct overall as being a hybrid of different things while there isn't much separating Nero from someone like Ichigo from Bleach, and there's a lot of that in videogames.
Nero is cool though, the problem is Nero is like the Robin to Dante's Batman. Yeah I like Robin and don't mind stories following him, but I give more of a shit about what's going with Batman than I do Robin. There's nothing that unique about him outside of gameplay, and I much prefer Dante's playstyle to Nero.
Plot twist: I was the white cool young dude all along!
How can you hate on Dadte, TIMU?!
Also DMC5 Dante looks a lot better.
It's also out in the wild and people are scouring all over the materials/deets of the game. Are you referring to something from the trailer or a leak?
This is the first time where I went in with absolutely zero fucks about spoilers, but I've started to already get annoyed at the clip at which people are actively trying to rip apart every little detail and post it up as tweets.
There's zero chill with this community.
DMC5 runs like shit for me. :-\Denuvo is causing 20fps performance decreases, a Capcom dev leaked a cracked eye online.
Waiting for some patches, had to refund it on Steam.
You're going to get your ass handed to ya lmao
Nah but for real. people always say they ar ethe same game but you'll be surprised by how deliberate DMC really is.
Are we talking high level play or just beating it? Cause beating most if not all the DMC games is no trouble. Doing dope shit is where you need to be real creative.
Dante here is possibly the best Dante ever. TIMU get ready for one of my favorite missions in the game in mission 12.

Apparently Lady is seen before this. I wanna see.
SJW Sony strikes again.
but I can't put my finger on who Nero reminds me of. :thinking
The one good thing about saudi is their tendency to break street dates.

four, that's what I said.
And sadly no Agni and Rudra or Nevan :(
But the weapons here might be the best he ever had, they are. His base sword now is incredible, I never want to play another game without it.
Mission 14's boss is damn awful.
"What a fool!"
*proceeds to charge you like 3 times and you can roll around/dodge only to eat one attack*
Had to use a continue, finally, because of that stupid ass "I'M NOT DEAD YET!!! *proceeds to try to heal*" bullshit at the end.
The V Mission or do you mean the Nero mission after?
four, that's what I said.Agreed. I was bummed about no A&R but honestly...who cares. I'm having too much fun with Cavaliere. :lol

But the weapons here might be the best he ever had, scratch that, they are. His base sword now is incredible, I never want to play another game without it.
Mission 19. :whew
I'm doing an SoS run and kinda wish it was the base difficulty but ah well, had to get the new kids feet wet I guess. You weren't kidding. SoS is sooo much better than DH. The new enemy placements and late game enemies in early game areas are keeping it fresh too.
but it goes to Sons of Sparda automatically?
Devil May Cry 5 will add “Bloody Palace Mode” as a free update on April 1, Capcom announced.
Here is an overview of the mode, via Capcom:
Bloody Palace is a survival mode that pits you against hordes of increasingly difficult enemies and bosses whilst racing against the ticking timer. Play as Dante, Nero or V in Bloody Palace Mode through multiple levels of enemies and truly test your SSStylish skills.
It still works as an action/adventure game IMO.100% It's a fun game for what it is, and the combat system, while limited compared to dmc of today is fun for what it is. like the enemy design and how they all have a gimmick or weakness to beat them
you only need to play DMC1 for being the Resident Evil spinoff that it is.
So this game is good, but I'm not getting best charaction action of all time talk here. It's very safe. It's a better version of DMC4. The combat mechanics are fun, but the enemies are brain dead combo fodder.
But DMC is mostly a combo styling game. The level design is non-existent, the environments repetitive, and there is a serious lack of bosses, which is where the game shines.
The Bayonetta and Ninja Gaiden (Xbox 1 and 360 only) games are much better packages. I do like the game, but the series doesn't really do anything new here.
Obviously, if you love that combo heavy mechanics, which many absolutely love, I get the appeal. It's a deep well of experimentation here. I just hoped they improved the campaign, which has been a weakness with this series.
Can we talk about how clunky DMC1 is after playing DMC5? Because it is. :dogeGame is close to 20 years old bro.
I'm replaying it on the HD Collection and man, it's a night and day difference in terms of combat and camera for the series with 3.

DH isn't the best difficulty to judge the game which is why I hoped SoS was available from the start. I recommend you start that before going off the braindead combo fodder enemeis (the lower level enemies are always the combo fodder).
The game absolutely pushes the genre forward in combat, the main point of which the genre is looked upon. Delve a bit deeper into it and you'll see how it demolishes the competition in that aspect.
As far as it being safe, I don't particularly agree with reinventions always being necessary, let alone always as improvements. This is a no fluff DMC game with the best combat ever implemented and it's all it should have been.QuoteThe Bayonetta and Ninja Gaiden (Xbox 1 and 360 only) games are much better packages. I do like the game, but the series doesn't really do anything new here.
Ninja Gaiden is ultimately going for an extremely different approach in the same extreme. It's a lot more about efficiency than styling on opponents, so i can understand preferring that. Bayo on the other hand? As much as i love it it's filled to the brim with instant death QTE's out of nowhere which bog it down immensely. Bayo 2 is the most mindless of the bunch as it relies too much on spamming for me to ever consider it of the top echelon.QuoteObviously, if you love that combo heavy mechanics, which many absolutely love, I get the appeal. It's a deep well of experimentation here. I just hoped they improved the campaign, which has been a weakness with this series.
DMC1 and 3 have among the best campaigns in the sub genre. I do wish they would have expanded on the puzzle and platforming elements instead of doing away with them entirely, but I can see that after all the complaints they chose to get rid of the fluff. It's best to think of it like an old Shinobi or classicvania game, you go through rooms full of hordes of enemies till you get to the boss. I wouldn't call the level design here bad so much as straight forward.
Bayo 1 and 2 are still my favorites, followed by DMC1. Am sure DMC5 will easily replace 1, but I may not go back to it just yet- thinking I should finally play through DMC3 first now.My big issue with DMC3/4/5 is that the combat is so deep in these games that they might as well just be about the Bloody Palace primarily. The campaign in these games always feel like a tutorial for that.
Well it kind of sucks that they took away you regular sword for Dante and make you use this Devil Sword that I don't like. Not really a spoiler but i'll do it anyway...
Well it kind of sucks that they took away you regular sword for Dante and make you use this Devil Sword that I don't like. But it's the same thing lol. It just looks different and has more moves.
Also playing as V is not fun.
I don't know, game is ok. Not liking it as much as I wanted to.
It is'nt the same thing. Swordmaster's O attacks are diffrent with the Dante sword. You can do them more with R1+Forward I think, but it's easier with the regular sword, which is what I had gotten use to.
Anyway, I finished it today. Pretty good game. I'd say better than 4 and maybe 3. I really feel they went all out. Even the story was rather fun. The game was oozing personality and Nero and Dante were really fun to play. V less so....
I'd say 9/10.

Ah so you're a fan of "storied videogame franchises" of that era I take it?
Honestly dawg maybe look into getting a PS2 on the cheap or something, there's a lot there you would love.

I mean so many of them have had HDmakes I'd rather play those, for the most part, or the PC ports which have tons of mods.
Jesus christ reading this thread back shows what a frothing fanboy I was for this... and it fucking paid off for once!!!
He absolutely is. In 4 he was mostly limited and yelling KYRIIIIIIIIIIIIE all the time.
I like him a lot more now. Dante still the GOAT though.
