The album sleeve causes eye cancer, but as expected, they've released another awesome set of music.

Run-Away... What the hell? I love it.
-
RUUUUUUUUNAWAYYYYY
THAT'S WHAT I DID TODAYYYYYYY
My favorite is probably "The Gift That Keeps Giving."
The production on the album is so cool. It sounds like a lost album from the '60s.

THIS ISN'T THE PUMPKINS

Edit first post for Diablos' sake.
-
Yeah, the production on this is great. I wasn't expecting that sound - "Run-Away" threw me for a loop, though I guess "The Gateway Song" should have obviously clued me in that things were going to be different :lol
So far, I'm really really liking "Run-Away" and "Battersea Odyssey" ... those are my definitely my favorites. But I'm digging the album as a whole.

"Battersea Odyssey" has such a weird sound. The vocals are so detached and floaty. The album as a whole is perfectly psychedelic and so concise. It isn't even 40 minutes long.
Glad you like it!

THIS ISN'T THE PUMPKINS
:'( I heard their new album Zeitergibbles or whatever isn't so great. I hope that's not true. :'(
-
kanye west's new album will be album of the year, and it'll probably the the top selling album, too.
-
I think Nick Cave is going back in the studio this year, but that would probably be a 2008 release at this point.
-
I've never heard of this band. What are they like?
-
Ridiculously wonderful Welsh pop.
-
Thanks for bringing this to my attention, fancie. I've been listening to these songs over and over :rock
-
when does it actually come out? i'm so bad at the internet that i wish neither to download it nor to search for the release date myself
-
August 28th or so. That's the UK release. I'm not sure if they're aiming for a worldwide date, but they're on Rough Trade now so it might take a while longer to get it here.
I know I'm a huge SFA fanboy and my opinion is not to be trusted, but this is just a solid, fun, easygoing album. It's a marked improvement over Love Kraft, which I consider their worst album.
It's great to hear that you seem to be enjoying it as much as me, Error Macro.
I've never heard of this band. What are they like?
Whimsical British pop with a sense of humor, but also random serious streaks.

Well, so, I definitely think the Shins is the album of the year.
