So apperently my movie got chosen to be shown with all the grad films in September. Yay. The only problem is they only gave me $200 for travel expenses. That probably wont get me very far will it?

If you do go and I say "if" because you'll need to get maybe ten times that amount to cover travel expenses if you're staying several days, you should have a lot of fun. That place is not far from a lot of cool bars and hang out spots - plus you could taxi down to Hollywood & Highland, which is super touristy and seems like a perfect fit for you. Tell the dude that dresses up like Darth Vader to give me my money back.

I have been to L.A. but it was a vacaion growing up. I'll probably just go for a few days and enjoy the scenery.

Day passes on the bus go up to $5 starting July 1st. Still you could spend 40 days just riding the metro!

But serious, it wont you get you very far, you need about 4,000 to last a few weeks, um if you know some folks, if you wont anything, maybe a few days, um all depends on where you are going to be in LA.
