Title: Wikipedia edit policy is Robert's Rules of Order for the 21st Century
Post by: Howard Alan Treesong on July 04, 2007, 12:14:56 AM
Backstory: Science fiction author Fred Saberhagen dies. Friends of Saberhagen notify other SF authors. Harlan Ellison posts about it on his website. John Scalzi updates the Wikipedia entry with news of Saberhagen's death.

Tragicomic rules lawyering ensues (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Fred_Saberhagen#Death), resulting in futami-level cognitive dissonance and making me extremely suspicious of anything I read on Wikipedia ever again. I mean, death is not usually considered "contentious." People oh-so-rarely return to life.
