60% of Americans have an unfavorable opinion of Nixon and 59% have an unfavorable opinion of Bush.

Washington and Lincoln are the most popular? That's just 'cuz their faces are on currency. Just wait a few years for Bush and Nixon to be on the 1 and 5 dollar bills and their popularity will go way, way up.

Speaking of which when Reagan died republicans in congress attempted to get him on the dime, replacing FDR (cause he was a democrat lol) it failed horribly despite them being in congress at the time. I highly doubt there will be any presidents on money in a loooooong time. Isn't JFK the most recent one to get on anything that is used?
Oh and Washington is WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY over-rated, can any average non history loving person name anything he did worthy of being best (note fighting the revolutionary war was not something he did as president kiddies).
"Best" presidents in no order would be off the top of my head: Jefferson, Jackson, Lincoln, Teddy Roosevelt, Wilson, FDR, & Truman.
No one since Truman is really worthy of being one of the best. If LBJ didn't decide to start that little war of his the fact he forced congress to pass the civil rights bill and later signed it would earn him worthy status amongst those. No one else is close.
