Yes, crowd that is constantly making threads about TV shows, I'm talking to you. How much time do you spend watching tv or tv shows? I mean really. I have a hard time keeping up with three or four shows - I mean, Project Runway is easy because it's not year round, and Rome was once a week.
Maybe this is just some mental issue of mine. When I'm staring at a tv screen I'm predisposed to being bored.

none. i watch all my "tv" as dvd box sets. if i'm not in a passive entertainment mood, i don't watch anything.

only TV I watch actively is LOST
-
I pretty much stopped watching TV actively over the course of this year. Like Drinky, I am ripping through The Shield on DVD.
-
Lost is one of those shows I avoid on purpose because I'm sick of people talking about it..... Singlehandedly making water cooler chitchat ten times more annoying.
-
omg omg the shield, just started season 3
omg omg i swear IT NEVER LETS UP
-
really, though, it's probably more cost effective to cancel cable and just buy the tv boxsets on sale (the shield is $16.99/season at costco, hint hint). it also gives you a LOT more control over your time, is commercial free, and you don't feel the pain of a cheesy cliffhanger.
-
yeah, tvc has convinced me to try it.
-
I DVR most shows, so I can watch them at a time that is more opportune.

Ah you beat me to it. DVRs are so sweet.
Cyanista: a little bit elitist, no?
-
I'm done with TV. I DVR crap shows like American Idol and Big Brother and then watch them in under 10 minutes by fast forwarding through all the fluff.
True fact: I've never watched one minute of Lost, but I have trolled almost every GAF thread created on it. I almost want to watch past episodes so I can become a more effective troll ... but that seems like too much work.

I'm done with TV.
Srsly there's nothing at all you like watching, or you just wait for the boxsets?
-

A little?
Don't blame me, I didn't make me perfect.

Okay a lot. But just because the boob tube is less engaging than the series of intartubes, all of our asses are getting fatter engaging in our particular hobbies.

Fun fact: Posting on Evilbore is a character flaw.
My flaws only lend me an appealing air of approachability.

Season 3 is OMG. I'm halfway through.

I'm in the DVD boxset camp and also like iTunes as well. I just can't stand watching commercials. They just kill momentum. I remember reading an article somewhere on how many of the HBO shows thrive on seamless storytelling because the writers don't have to create mini cliffhangers before commercial breaks.
Current show(s):
House (Great show by the way)
On my radar:
Deadwood
The Wire
Firefly

I have a Costco account sounds like it's time to get my money's worth

Nope. In fact, I went without TV from 2001-2003. If it wasn't for my wife being a TV junkie, I still wouldn't own one. I don't even rent boxsets. That's too much time to invest.
I would rather be on the internet or listening to the radio (baseball game usually).
-
I watch craploads of tv on dvd. I mean craploads.
-

PEOPLE HE MEANS IT - CRAPLOADS. QUIT FUCKING AROUND.
-
motherfucking craploads. I seriously own craploads of tv on dvd and watch each crapload more than once sometimes.
-
I probably watch 2-4 hours of tv a week.
I make up for it by wasting all my free time on the internet instead
-
I DVR everything. Anyone who has cable and doesn't DVR is an idiot.
-
SICK BURNN
real talk.
-
or poor, dont forget poor
-
I don't have cable. There is no way I'm getting the only cable that's offered in my apartment complex.
TV Max
doesn't it just sound shitty???
-
I dont even have cable, fuk cable.
-
i'm canceling our cable after the in-laws visit in september.
-
I've actually wondered this myself. I've got maybe 3 shows that I follow, and I find myself watching the seasons over and over. I think I do that with everything. I'm not good with change. Once I find something I like, I stay with it :-\
Back to watching Scrubs.
-
cable is worth it for discovery.
