Although I believe that a PS3's power is below the level of a mid end gaming PC, I have to say that the PS3 is a much better deal. A blu-ray drive alone costs $500. Even if you don't give a crap about blu-ray movies, it would cost more than $500 to have a PC that will play games like Marvel:Ultimate Alliance, NFS:Carbon, R6:Vegas, etc better than a PS3.
