looks excellent. I loved Sonic Rush, bring this on
-
I'm going to have to get this just for more "Jet Set Radio" music.
-
Im getting it for more SWEET 2D SONIC ACTION. And Hideki Naganuma :bow
-
Sonic died on the Genesis.
-
This looks really cool, looks like it doesn't have much in the way of enemies slowing you down or tons of bottomless pits, which I didn't even find to be that bad when I played.
I just hope they make the boss battles faster and less annoying, that was my biggest complaint with the first game.

Sonic died on the Genesis.
Thats what we thought, then Sonic Rush was released!
-
Well, Sonic Rush seems to be one of those typical 'lol sonic was good because he was fast" games, that doesn't really get 2d Sonic at all.
-
Sonic was only good because he was fast. You're delusional if you think Sonic on the Genesis was some brilliant, deep 2D platformer. It was just fast.
-
Because the physics platforming all has to do with being fast. Right.
-
What about Sonic's platforming physics are MINDBLOWING, eh? And furthermore, what does any Genesis title have over Sonic Rush (save for music)?
-
I didn't say there was anything MINDBLOWING about them, but that doesn't mean they weren't fun. At the time, they made Sonic completely different from other platformers. It was how in order to get through that loop or reach that really high edge you had to build enough speed to do it. Pretty much all Sonic games past Sonic and Knuckles does not *get* this. Sonic isn't simply about being fast. Only people who spent time with it maybe for 5 minutes think that.
I haven't played Rush yet.
-
Yeah if you liked the Genesis games you'll probably appreciate Sonic Rush, it basically captured the essence of those games and added a few gameplay extensions.
And Willco WTF, the Sonic games were some of the best platformers, no actually, GAMES from the 16 bit era. Awesome level design, gameplay, graphics and art direction. They were certainly not 'just fast'
-
You guys are mascot crazy.
-
LittleBigPlanet is how a new Sonic game should play, really...
My biggest problems with Rush over the Genesis Sonics (S3+K :bow) are:
-Lack of parallax/interesting backgrounds
-Music wasn't as awesome (I liked Nakaguma's soundtrack but not as much as some of the stuff on the Sonic 2 and 3 soundtracks)
-Boss fights were really annoying, they took forever and enemies' hit window would be only like a split second
-Rooms where you had to fight like 10 enemies (aka just "BOOST" through them) to move on
-
The first Sonic was a great platformer. It all went downhill from there.
-
Sonic CD for Sega CD was great, you guys. :)

I agree. Sonic the Hedgehog 1 really is the best
