they are revolting and cater to the stupid carnival cariacature aesthetic that drives the wal-mart set into rabid hyucks of delight. they are fisher-price obscenities for folks with a seven-year-old's tastes, be they that actual age or reduced to that age by senility and/or a squandered life.
miis are for shitfucks, and if you like them, i hope your mom catches you, pants down and grubby, fucking a piece of shit in the 3x3 bathroom of your trailer home, you gummo-ass shitfuck.
-
though you got banned for it at gaf, never was there a better compliment for "faggotry" than Miis.
I despise them and their Nintendo creators too-preying on hapless childhood video game nostalgia is vile enough, jumping on their toddler fisher price toys nostalgia is revolting.
edit: booze getting to my grammer
-
i'm gonna make one based on you and call it faggotry
-
you're a shitfuck, demi
-
why don't you say that to my face and faggotry over here
-
Olimario made plenty of Miis based on famous OAers and he apparently always plays with them :o
-
is there a point to miis other than being gay avatars?
-
I agree, really. Miis are revolting. The idea of a customizable avatar--even a highly stylized one--that's shared between all games is good.
Miis, however, are a horrible abortion of an implementation. Sure, it's all fun and games in Wii Sports. But only now that they're showing up in other games do we finally realize what we've signed on to for the next five years.
-
olimario is also mentally disabled. he was probably touched by a crazy texan uncle as a kid. happens all the time in the bible belt -- or "mii country" as we might know it here -- so it's no fault of his.
-
i actually hate avatars of any sort, because i hate the notion of people intruding THEIR idealized shitfuck selves into my digital media. i won't like customizable avatars until i can customize OTHER PEOPLE'S FOR THEM, making them into the burbling obese distinguished mentally-challenged fellows i inevitably consider them to be.
-
an mmorpg where players looked like what you thought them as instead of what they wanted to dress themselves up as would be hilarious.
Thankfully, it would really only need a few models-most importantly a well-textured walking asshat.
-
Miis suck. Worse yet, Nintendo has yet to really find any inventive or innovative applications for them. As they are, they are lo-fi pieces of garbage. I can't make one that looks like me either, but maybe I'm too sexy for all the associated faggotry.
-
Ran out of things to bitch about? They're kinda pointless and are a total novelty but whatever. Still I like them better than making yourself into a guidos or furry in HOME.
-
Not that I am defending Home, but having more options in it is bad, tiesto?
-
Home = Habbo Hotel for console fanboys
Miis = cringeworthy fisher price things
both suck, as do gamerpics, forum avatars, and especially forum image signatures like I see everywhere nowadays.
-
forum avatars rule
-
Yeah, what's wrong with forum avatars/gamerpics? They have no bearing on the posts or how we really interact, unlike Miis or Home.
-
i turned off all avatars, maf will confirm
-
my avatar is a picture of a cock slapping prole's kids face.
-

This probably has more to do with work browsing than anything else.
-

because i don't want any persistent information about people's shitty, busted personalities! redundant personal information -- be it explicit or oblique -- is a waste of my processing centers which COULD be used thinking of more offensive modifiers to prepend to your name in my internal monologue!
-

The invariably get distracting and stupid-animation and vidcap douchebaggery make them obnoxious. Gamerpics just seem sort of silly, as you are pretty much just interacting with text-it's a needless vanity in that context.
I actually don't mind well-regulated (read: not GAF) forum avatars on smaller boards, as it can make things easier to read since you recognize the poster from the pic out of the corner of your eye.
-
I like Gamerpics, because if it was up to Microsoft, we'd all be sporting Halo pictures when IM'd or spoke to one another. This way, we can appropriately pick which software propaganda is compatible with our tastes. Search your feelings, Frag, you know it to be true!
-
my gamerpic is a cock slapping prole's kid's face
-
liar, my photobucket is passworded

Yeah, I like forum avatars for this same reason... if I'm reading a large thread, I will quickly glance at the picture and if I see certain pics, I'll know whether or not I should skim over their posts or read them thoroughly. Sigs can be kind of annoying though. Like that -Timedog guy at NeoGAF that got old quickly!
-
avatars fucking blow balls, god I miss the times when nearly no message board software enabled them, conversations were more level-headed and it showed
GAF people go so fucking overboard with all the stupid animated GIFs in their avatars since this is the only freedom they have, and there's no way to even turn them off, that makes them all behave like in a kindergarten
