The Japanese beef below is better than any beef that you culinary ignoramuses can find in America.

If you want to know what real beef tastes like, then get your ass to Japan.

This is the most japafaggiest comment that I've ever read on this board.

I had Kobe beef on my honeymoon in Japan last summer, it was part of our thirteen-course dinner on Miyajima Island.
I like a steak now and then, but I'm not a ravenous red meat fiend. With that said, OH MY GOD IT WAS SO GOOD.

LOL. I don't even like Japanese culture. However, as a food connoisseur, I have no choice but to admit that the Japanese have us beaten in terms of beef production.

The beef above is Matsusaka beef which is superior to Kobe beef. They both come from the Wagyu breed though.

Damn, I thought this was a thread about demi's love torpedo. :(

Yeah, it's good, but ridiculously expensive. The first time I ate it was at a restaurant in Atlanta; I got like the tiniest portion of Kobe Beef for about $100. Insanity.

I've tried Kobe beef several times in the US and they're not as good as what you can get in Japan. It sucks that our gov won't let us have imported beef.

That's cool, but it doesn't take away from how incredible the Kobe beef was. My wife had pretty much sworn off red meat a year before we went to Japan, but still raves about it to our friends.

This stuff was. :P This was some years back though. At a Hawaiian/Asian cuisine place called "Roy's," if I remember correctly.

You're right, it doesn't. Sorry if I sounded like a food snob. I tend to get overly emotional about food sometimes.

Distant Mantra, you gotta come back here and get Japan out of your system, man! :D

We're going back for a week in Tokyo next Spring. Then we're done with Japan for quite some time and will go back to Europe to visit friends in the Netherlands.

distantmantra, you and me and lyte edge have to hang out. You'll have to find a way to ditch the wife for an evening.

I dont think the way this country eats facilitates the savoring of most delicacies. I mean you could give me a piece of this super wow japanese beef but id probably shove the entire cut in my mouth and slam a mountain dew then wonder what the fuss is all about.
