Title: Routers that are supposedly geared towards gaming
Post by: Saint Cornelius on July 13, 2007, 08:38:37 PM
Like Linksys' "Wireless-N Gigabit Gaming Router"

(http://www.linksys.com/servlet/Satellite?blobcol=urldata&blobheadername1=Content-Type&blobheadername2=Content-Disposition&blobheadervalue1=image%2Fjpeg&blobheadervalue2=inline%3B+filename%3DWRT330N-%2528R%2529-up-M.jpg&blobkey=id&blobtable=MungoBlobs&blobwhere=1130849757878&ssbinary=true)

Does this shit really deliver the high speed that a wired connection would? That's a fucking radar dish on top.

I never thought it was the speed that killed wireless gaming, but the connectivity.  Mine loses connection quite often.  Gay.

yeah I think the lag is caused by packet loss, pretty much the only real choice for online games that don't have turn-based gameplay is wired.  Which would explain why nintendo won't put a fucking ethernet port on wii because they don't expect you to play anything online.

I use the apple airport extreeme basestation. Ps3 SMS x360 plugged to the switch with about 4-6 wireless devices using it.

No problems here.

I use the new flat model, not the old rounded model.
