Theres an eerie surrealness about the song. I love it

Leonard Cohen is awesome. His voice is perfect for his lyrics.

Exactly
And there seems to be complaint that he only talks and doesn't sing but you can hear him interacting with the backup singers and working the tone of his voice. I absolutely love the way the backup singers add to the sound too.
The lyrics too, I mean wow. Not to be surprised too since hes a poet.

Cohen is probably one of the greatest lyricists of all time. My personal favorite albums are I'm Your Man and The Future.

I've been listening to "Closing Time" all day. Theres so much insight in the song it blows my mind.

He 'sung' more on his earlier stuff. Then all of a sudden he adopted this 'Barry White from hell' low voice at one point and I have no idea why.
