I have to use these prescribed eye drops EVERY hour for four days. The doctor that saw me was an asshole, too.

Nope, I got it from wearing my contacts throughout the night while I sleep, and I hardly ever clean them. They're bi-weekly contacts, so I didn't think I ever needed to. And it hasn't hurt until just today, so eh. This sucks though.

i had one, too. i'm just getting over it now. it only lasted about 4 days, they seem to clear up pretty quickly. but yeah. they're a drag. i always hate having to go out in public with one.

I think it depends on the type of contacts you have. Do you use daily ones? Or extended ones, like bi-weekly ones?

i just daily ones, brandnew. there are no worries with those contacts since you're just wearing them for a day.
but they do cost a bit more lol.

I use monthlys and leave them in way too much.

It'll probably bite you both in the ass in a bit of time, especialy if you don't use eye drops every once and a while. Honestly, I didn't use shit with mine–they just stayed in there until it was time to change them, then the cycle started again.
My eye already feels a bit better, but it's just reeeeeaaally dry now.

Well, I have a bit of buildup in my eyelid right now and the same thing has happened before. I just get eye drops and it gets better. Doesn't bother me enough to not be lazy.
Although, I don't leave them in for two weeks straight, Jesus Christ. Or gone months without changing them. I guess I'm not that distinguished mentally-challenged.

Sleeping with contacts still in is very uncomfortable once you wake up. I don't see how you guys keep doing it.

My eye doctor said it's perfectly fine to leave them in there while you sleep, but I forgot to mention to him that I don't clean them ever. I'm going to after this whole shit is over. An eye incfection is one of the most uncomfortable things ever.

i used to mess around with a nurse who wore bi-weeklies but wore them for like a month or so. At least she put drops in before bed and in the morning. The only time i sleep in mine is when i'm at some chick's house and we have sex and i just don't feel like taking them out afterwards, or i don't have a spare case. After the nightmarish experience i had a little over a year ago, i fear for my vision every time i doze off with my contacts in.
i just got over an eye infection that lasted a month. i ended up reinfecting myself somehow in the same eye. The cause was totally my fault -- i was wearing my two-week contacts for two months (taking them out at night) while i ordered some extras. i tried not to, but my allergies were really bugging the hell out of me and i did rub my eyes a lot, which combined with old contacts probably caused the infections. My ophthalmologist also recommended using eye drops (Optive is the new hotness) and blinking more because my eyes were really dry (computer use, dry air conditioned air). Even now that the infection's gone, my right eye is still a little itchy. The Optive helps a lot with that.

I would never wear contacts...there's just something so weird about putting something directly on your eye. :/
