Title: Guitar Hero: Rocks the 80s For the Rest Of Us
Post by: MrAngryFace on July 25, 2007, 12:33:52 AM
That's right. The rest of us. The people who cant play on expert and found Hard to be a stone wall in GH1, and something challenging in GH2. The people who found the song selection in GH1 awesome but obscure in GH2. The people who care more about the music than the available patterns.

Granted, there are some drawbacks. For 50 dollars I would have liked some unlockable songs, but aside from that its money well spent. Why? Cause according to the elite GH players on this forum im a big ol scrub. I guess I am. I mean Crossroads Medium stopped me cold, it was a bitch. And that 5th fret in general is kinda daunting if the songs arent that forgiving. Well you know what, Rock the 80s IS more forgiving, but is that bad? MOST GH players arent the elite, and we want to have some fun too. Boasting some MEMORABLE 80s tunes I really dont see where this game goes wrong. God forbid I enjoy Turning Japanese, Radio Love, or The Warrior.

Fuck the snobs, this game is a lot of fun, and if all of you scrubs out there DO find it easier on medium, there's two fucking other difficulties that I can assure you will still be enough of a challenge to validate your puchase. Best of all, its music most of us actually remember.

I dunno, I love 80s music and I still hardly knew any of the GH80s songs. it's all shitty hair metal.

and I dunno where you're talking about "challenge," I started on Expert and never came close to having to pay attention

zzzz

I'm awful at these kinds of games. I can't play anything on Dance Dance Revolution over three feet symbols, and even then it is a challenge.  :lol

At least I'm all right at Donkey Konga.  :P

Strutter is in this game? Did they just recycle it? What the fuck.

Jesus, this game is disgustingly awful.

 :-[

I 100%'ed Heart Shaped Box on Expert a few days ago. I've been working on 100%'ing Can't You Hear Me Knockin'

GH2 still provides enough fun that I can wait for GH3. I also have a backlog I never feel like delving into.

I hated the cover for Heart Shaped Box tho. Its a fun song to play otherwise. Ive always been partial to Spanish Castle Magic in the original. For me recognizing the song is a big part of what I get out of it, which makes GH2 a little harder to get into and Rocks the 80s more interesting to me. A good portion of Rock the 80s songs make me very nostalgic.

Yea, I don't know most of the songs on Rock the 80s. I'm a 90s kid.

Spanish Castle Magic is definitely an awesome song in the original, though.

Heat of the Moment is the worst fucking song ever.  You know it's especially bad when it's the worst song in a collection that consists mostly of hair metal.

Fuck ASIA in their stupid asses.
