Don't some of you already have the game?

I'm not going to be able to get it shipped for a few weeks because of the mean, lazy and slow Canadian agents at the border. :(

Well, I got it the other day, so I'll try and post some quickie impressions.

I turned it on - first I had to update my firmware to 1.90 - so that took about 20 minutes. My screen blanked out so I kinda freaked because I thought I just broke my $600 investment to go along with my $1400 investment. That's like 3 car payments or something.

Then my entire network was screwed up beyond recognition, so add another 45 minutes or so to reconfigure my routing table so I could at least sign onto AIM and relay messages about my upcoming impressions to some people. I then had a sudden urge to fire up a couple quick games of Super Stardust HD, that quickly turned into an hour down the drain as I got sidetracked. It really is a fun game.

BUT

I finally popped in the game, and I saw the title screen. It looked very nice, lots of japanglish.

I did a quick round, played like every other golf game out there, it was so cute and quirky.

It's ok.

I'll probably be playing it tonight.  I'm more interested in Wangan Midnight right now.

How good is it?

Is it detailed graphically? Does it run at a smooth 60 FPS?

Would you say it's far more beautiful than Forza 2?

You know, I'm not one for graphic whore chat, but damn does this game have some shimmering.  It's a little bit annoying.

I've really given up importing games these days, but I'm really tempted to with this one.  I just know they'll delay the shit out of the U.S version into next year, and then they'll screw up the character models completely.  I freaking hate localization teams that think they know the best way to do things.

If people can't get online outside Japan, I see no reason to import this.  I don't even know if I'm going to play online myself, since I suck so bad!  I got last place going through some holes last night.   :-\
