Saw it on Gaf. Some dude had a walmart ad with a pic. It's pretty much official now.
Anyway, does anyone else find it annoying when people react to a $50 price drop with "Still not enough to make me buy". I'm not sure why I find it so annoying, but I think it's just that I look at those people as not really hardcore gamers. I guess I just think that anyone who hasn't bought a 360 yet, probably isn't a hardcore gamer, and thus I wonder why they even post on forums and what not.
Of course I realize that some people just don't have the money, so spare me the sad song. I'm talking about people who will act like $250 is too much, but if they went down another $50, it suddenly makes it a purchase for them. I mean, does that $50 really mean that much to you, if it means that you can play some amazing games many months earlier? I would think not to any serious gamer.
Anyway, the price drop is good news. :)

that ad also advertises madden so it makes sense why they're doing the price drop now. They might do another small one to counter what sony or nintendo do.

I'm kind of surprised that they even bothered to drop it $50. They could've made all the Halo whores who hadn't bought 360s yet cough up $400.

Looks like I'll be picking up a 360, then! Can't wait to pick up Blue Dragon, EDF 2017, and Lost Planet.

I was hoping for a $100 price drop, but this might be enough for me to pick one up soon so I'm ready for the fall deluge.

the 360 is clearly the best system on the market now so for people that were too cheap to get one before, now would be the time. however, since it's only $50 it doesn't really make much difference. that 50 will be going toward the xboxlive anyhow, which basically means that's all you're getting for free.
i think it should have been a $100 price drop and that would have been a better deal for people but it's not really about pleasing the customers, just making money for the company.
if they were really thinking straight they'd make an attachable bluray disc player for $200 and destroy ps3 in coming months, but that'll never happen. a man can dream though.

omfg reading that gaf thread gave me a fucking headache.
"omg betrayalton" yeah, because MS owes you a fucking price drop or something. IT'S.STILL.LESS.MONEY.FOR.THE.SYSTEM. I'd take this over anything. Some of those fucks would have only been happy if they didn't drop the price at all. Fucking dumb.

...but this is going to be enough to make me buy one soon. I guess it helps that I got a decent paying internship, though. Halo 3 here I come!

Dead Rising is awesome. The controls are way better than Resident Evil. The most surprising thing about DR is that despite its colorful visuals and humour, it is even more depressing than RE.

Yeah, you're right, I was talking about it. Not necessarily doing it though. ;)
After hearing Halo 3 has 4 player online co-op, I think I'd kick myself in the balls if I got rid of it now. I'm pretty excited about Halo 3 right now. I also love Gears of War, and would have a hard time parting with it. Not to mention, I think it's almost a certainty that we'll see Gears of War 2 next fall.
