he's scanning 15 years of aquarium magazines.
700 magazines. 52,000 scans.

Wow.
-
the guy's hella funny. He likes his nakey fishes.
-
i understand he wants to give the magazines to a library or whatever, but it would've been so much easier to slice the spine and scan the pages in via document feeder.
-
yeah but he's nice and wanted to take his time.
-
What is this document feeder you speak of?
I'm thinking of doing something similar with my Famitsus.
You feed pages into it versus having to scan each page individually. A modestly-priced all-in-one machine should have one. They aren't as robust or as fast as a document scanner, but they're much cheaper.

Hmm, I found a good entry-level Canon document scanner for 41,000 yen. 7ppm in colour and saves to PDF format, and that's 200dpi. I wonder if there's a document feeder for my current scanner though...
If you're in Japan, i wouldn't be shocked if you could find an ADF in one of those wacky shops in Akihibara. Just look your scanner up on the manufacturer's site and check out the accessories page.
