I'm looking to get my passport, how much is it, and how long should I expect to wait (in the US)?I'm not sure on the cost...government says 8-12 weeks traditionally, we're looking at more than 4 months in some cases. I spoke with a woman who had applied in early March and had just received a letter a day before her trip that her passport was flagged and would not be processed...

When I asked for bereavement pricing on plane tickets to my grandfather's funeral they requested to know the name of the funeral home, the number, and his name to check on it before giving me the tickets.
I guess that's understandable in a way, to verify something before they discount, but it's still really heartless. You'd think there would be a more tactful way of going about it.
