So after 4 years, my little Emachines (1.8 Ghz; 512 MB of RAM) computer finally died on me. Actually, I believe it's just the power supply, but when I went to get a new one, I found the cheapest ones (at Best Buy) are around $80. So I thought, hell if I'm gonna pay that much, I might as well just get a new computer or just build one.
Now, I can't really spend too much, so my limit is around $600. I don't care about the monitors or anything else. So, what would be the best course of action, GUYS?

Power supplies are cheaper than $80, you aren't looking hard enough. Go to a used PC store and just ask.

My Emachines is similar to that one (2.21ghz, 512MB RAM) and is giving me problems too. :-\

If you buy a Mac, I will never talk to you again

How much does that thing cost, TVC?

I was actually considering getting one of the mac minis, since I tend to move out a lot. :(

Ever. Again.

Get this over a MAC if you want power + portability. It's just a little bigger than a Gamecube.

Okay, screw the new computer for now. I got another problem. I just got a cheap new power supply instead but now my computer doesn't have SOUND! It says "no active mixers found' or something. WHAT DO I DO?!
