Post by: MrAngryFace on August 04, 2007, 10:15:21 PM
Fuck the reviews, looks like they spent time on FEATURES.

*Article on NON-GAME GAMERS and teh state of teh industry. Some good industry quotes.

I should cancel EGM since I only read it in the bathroom.  Even then, I rarely bother to finish reading the articles.  There's really not much in EGM that you can't get elsewhere online.  They probably make up shit in the rumours section so that people would keep reading it.

worth buying lol

what gamer on an internet message board doesn't get egm for free?

i have no idea how they have any circulation at all....everyone who would likely read it can find it for free, and everyone who pays for it probably doesn't give a shit. well, that's not really true. I USED to be a paying customer, but then I found all those links GAF drags up frequently and now I have like six free years stocked up.

I'm still paying.   :(  I've been too lazy to cancel.  Are you talking about e-versions or print versions?  I tried the e-versions but they're too annoying to read on a mon.   They should just use adobe instead.

the co-op information isn't in the magazine because the news was announced a few days before it came out.  there's a lot of good screens of halo though and their impressions are actually worth looking at.

The Halo 3 preview took up like half the mag.

The reviews sucked. Persona 3 gotm and it gets half a page when Lair and Blue Dragon get 6's and shit and they get 2 pages. Funny thing is that one of the quotes for the P3 review is,"P3 proves that an rpg doesn't have to have be popular to be great." or something, and they write half a page review.

Oh EGM.

MAF what exactly is the non-gamer article about? I would imagine that developers are happy about the prospect of the industry increasing; after all it simply means they can make more money off more people. But how do they feel right now with Nintendo solely benefiting off the console, and does it talk about the software buying habits of these non-gamers? If some grandma bought a Wii last Christmas, how many games does she have now? My bet is one: Wii Sports

most devs in the article dont think the development of non-games will affect the development of 'hardcore' games as the two best selling games for wii are considered 'hardcore' games.
