The new song plays. It sounds A LOT more poppy than their older stuff (which is really saying a lot). But I like it.
-
i will check it out when CRITICS are not within earshot of my pc speakers!

Rob Thomas is THE vocalist of our time. :bow
Song's bridge/chorus sounds waay too much like The Killers/generic emopoppy dribble, but overall it's ok I suppose. When Thomas has the mic in his hands he can do no wrong. Doesn't sound like a hit tho

technically, they haven't really had a hit since their debut album.. They've been on a massive decline in sales and popularity since then.

Um dude, Mad Season was a hit album and featured the class BENT.

Mad Season was a GIGANTIC drop from their debut album. It received terrible critical reviews as well as opposed to the great reviews YOSLY. It wasn't a flop, but it was a sign showing where the band was going. And I'd take a guess that a lot of those sales came from buyers of the first album. MB20 has a dedicated niche following that keeps them going, but not much support outside of that.
-
Dude Mad Season sold 10 million albums, and their last album sold 7 million. Their first album sold 20 million worldwide but the drop makes sense when you consider there was nowhere for them to go but down. See: Pearl Jam/Ten.
Everytime they release an album it's all over the radio. And Rob Thomas' solo was also everywhere forever lol.

no wai
fo real real? If Mad Season and MTYTYA really sold that many then it happened very slowly because after 2 months, no one expected MTYTYA to sell more than 1 million (if that).

i only have the first two albums -- didn't much like the third. i like mad season better than yosly, though. YES I SUCK.
-
More Than You Think You Are: #6 U.S., 2xPlatinum sales (WW: 7 million)
Well I'll be fucking damned. *tips hat*

I like Mad Season better too. But Kody and Busted are fucking awesome. I don't think I've listened to the third album in a few years (minus Bright Lights and The Difference on Itunes)

This used to be my favorite song of all time (I WAS A KID) but holy shit, I can't believe the rush of nostalgia I got as I heard that opening riff. Brings chills to the bones

And If You're Gone :-*

listen to Kody and Hang <3

I've started listening to this at work randomly and now i like it a lot
i'm waking up at the start at the end of the world, but it's feeling just like every other morning before. Now I wonder why my life is going to mean if it's gone. The cars are moving at like a half an hour, if that. I started staring at the passengers waving goodbye. Could you tell me what was really ever special about me all this time?
:bow :bow :bow :bow :bow :heartbeat :heartbeat

say your goodbyes if you even have anyone to say goodbye to :'(
-
i sat down on the street, took a look at myself, and said to myself where are you going when you know the world is going to hell?
-
The song is growing on me, but that Killers chorus is still suspect to me
-
yeah, the chorus is definitely a weird thing for matchbox twenty. but it's still growing. the verses are awesome for sure though. this has also put me on a huge mb20 binge lately
-
hey pd, did you ever sign up for their forums? i did like 4 years ago :lol :lol
