The Segway Enthusiasts Group of America is disbanding because of inactivity and an absence of candidates for its board of directors, said the group's treasurer, Fred Kaplan.

SEG America plans to cease operations at the end of this month. Other small fan groups for the Segway still exist, but SEG America was one of the more active organizations, sending out regular e-mails on various Segway-related gatherings.

That's the problem with the Segway: you can not ride one without looking like a fucking asshole.

Otherwise I think we'd all have one. Who likes walking anyhow?

I've seen people riding them on congested sidewalks... it's really annoying/hilarious as they get in the way of everyone walking.

I mean walking is the most natural form of exercise. Look at most of the world outside of the U.S. They are in much better shape. They don't go to gyms. They walk.
