Mmmmmm, that's the good, non-shitty Nintendo kind of nostalgia, right there. I can not forget how many times my skull has been cracked be the weapons in this game.

I had a bunch of sets like this, but they were called something different...
They also came with large cardboard mats and trees.
-
You know, I think that there *might* be a copy of that in my parents' attic...
-
omg omg sell it to tvc and tvc bring it to work

Hahaha...
I'll see what I can do. If I still have it, it's yours for free.
edit: I'm thinking of a different game, sorry to get your hopes up. :(
There are a couple on ebay, though:

From Wiki:
It has since been published by several different game publishers including Lakeside, Alga (Brio), Base Toys, Tomy and currently Moose (under the name Battlegrounds Crossbows and Catapults).

The one I had is essentially the same thing with a few modifications (break away parts on the castle, balls instead of checkers) -- and instead of two castles firing at one another, one person would fire at the castle and the other would fire at soldiers positioned in attack formations set up on a cardboard layout they were fastened to.
It was called Weapons and Warriors and I am 90% sure I still have this one and the pirate one somewhere in my parent's basement.

That's what I have/had, Weapons and Warriors.

I used to have Weapons and Warriors as well, never liked it that much though.
Battle Masters was probably my favorite board game as a kid.
