I couldn't get into it so much.  I didn't put a ton of time into it, though.

I. . .kind of want to go buy the PSP game, full knowing that it is no fun in SP.

I'd imagine it's kinda like Tales of the World, only more fleshed out and an emphasis on multi.

The kids at one of the schools I teach adore the PSP version of the game, and I'll usually run into them at least a few times a week in groups doing the multiplayer thing while facing against a dragon or some other type of huge monster. They're really into it; sometimes I have to threaten to confiscate their PSPs if they don't stop playing in class. :lol

I really liked the first one on the PS2, it was a nice little PSO knockoff. Plus, online play was/is free!

Pretty fun.  They are basically a PSU clone with more strategy, though the loot tables are wildly broken late in the game.

I dont think its a PSU clone at all...

MH has much much much more strategy than PSU does - its nowhere near the level of button masher.

I played the PS2 title to death - and it still seems to have a decent community.

I have the PSP game but never really play it as its no fun offline.
