Title: Describe your movie preferences

Not a 'what is your favorite movie' thread. Rather, describe the TYPE of movies that you like, and what you don't like. For me:
-I enjoy most genres for the most part, though prefer fantasy adventure -Only comedies I tend to like (minus rare exceptions) are parodies -Hate movies that contain or rely on any form of raunchy/vulger/toilet humor -Hate movies with excessive, unnecessary violence
Edit: Oh, and buddy cop movies. Especially when one of them happens to be a 'wacky' minority.

lots of stuff. for instance, the types of movies in which someone experienced teaches a younger one the ropes. stuff like wonderboys and scent of a woman etc.

Preference? A good movie period.
Although, if I was to pick a favorite genre it would be drama/suspense/thriller. My favorite movies are mind fuck movies.

I like things that are good. I don't like things that suck, unless they suck so much that they become unintentionally hilarious (Van Helsing, for example).

I dont like:
-Movies about empowerment or inspiration -Movies about Travelling Pants -Movies about a "Ya Ya Sisterhood" -Movies about romances that suffer cliched pitfalls from previous romance movies -Movies that try to hard to 'make me think'

I'll watch pretty much anything as long as it's original and creative. I'm especially fond of Italian cinema, in all its forms - from cheesy swords-and-sandals movies and spaghetti westerns, to neorealism and serious historical dramas. My favorite directors are mostly Italian or Italian-American too, which is interesting. IMO, Italy is the country with the richest cinematic history in all of Europe, even beating out France and the UK.
