Title: evilbore voting channel: next up in the drinky backlog?

beat wind waker last night with with 33 hours on the clock. god DAMN sailing sucks. anyways, honkies, what do i play next? VOTE OR BE PAPANGSTURBATED.

(note that i have tried to enjoy ff12 and re4 before and failed, but in the vein of pressing on in spite of shitty overdesign ala wind waker, i'm adding them to the list.)

flaws per title:

odin sphere: awful combat pacing
final fantasy 12: awful combat, period
ms saga: awful character designs
stella deus: awful lack of meaningful character customization
resident evil 4: awful ashley escort parts

edit: fuck, forgot about vp2 again.

you heard wrong, but it is an srpg with pretty graphics by maxfive, so i am obligated to give it a serious go anyways

Oh man, that's a tough one... I haven't heard much about MS Saga, but Odin Sphere wore its welcome on me fairly quickly, I didn't like FF12 at all, and I hear nothing but negatives about Stella Deus. I voted MS Saga, 'cause I'd be curious to hear some more opinions on it.

RE4 will be the quickest one to finish. It's most likely the most fun one too.

MS Saga is actually fun.  The story is stupid and the graphics are just average, but the whole customization/building your robot thing reminded me of Biomotor Unitron for NeoGeo Pocket Color.  I enjoyed it and played it straight through to the end.

The character designs for MS Saga, shite though they may be, are by AKIMAN (of Street Fighter, Overman King Gainer, and Turn A Gundam fame).  The game's Japanese title was Gundam True Odyssey, which is a hell of a lot better than MS Saga: A New Dawn.

MS Saga is the unknown quantity for me (no, I don't trust ducky on this one), so I wanna see Drinky's pleasure/pain.

VP2 is one of the best rpgs ever made. I think SoA still edges out as my favorite, but VP2 is pure sexx0rz

it's really good. my only complaint is that the early game mandates a fair bit of grinding and i'm not a big fan of the crafting system, but when it takes off WATCH THE FUCK OUT

Once you figure out spheres and the battle system the game is easy. Its really just about learning to manipulate the system with whats given to you :)

I beat the game once and the last few hours is OMG! Im thinking of a second pass but omg teh backlog.
