Time to get Emo. The main character is EMO at the start of the game. Its awesome. While the 2D visuals dont seem to be a huge improvement over the GBA Battle Network titles im excited to see the 3D battlefield. Plus the new battle stuff sounds neat, MORE AS IT DEVELOPZ!

I love the new story, everyones a fuckin jerk, even when theyre being nice
-
Maybe you should pay Luminous Arc instead
-
maybe you should play with my luminous dick, demi
-
But I have bioshock to play instead
-
Go talk about Bioshock in one of the other 3993493 topics about it.
I'd like to hear more about Starforce...what's different from the .EXE games, is it worth buying, etc. How's the music?
-
I saw Starforce and .EXE in this thread and started to fear for the life of my DVD-ROM drive. :-X

haha.
Well so far, gameplay wise, im not sure what to think. Moving to 3D seems to have removed moving forward and back movements, and probably the area capture cards along with it. Maybe im just not far enough yet. They also tweaked how cards are selected a smidge. I think the move to 3D kind of made moving back and forth a bad idea anyway, as just handling left and right movement, sword lock ons, and regular shots all up close against fast moving enemies requires as much skill imo as the earlier battle network titles. Also, the sword lock on isnt as cheesy as it sounds, the enemy still moves as you dash forward so you can miss, and you can also get hit by enemy fire. Its not a teleport, its a dash. That keeps timing important. You also get a free random card to use in the same turn when you hit enemies in counter, which I think kinda makes the game easy so far, but we'll see.
Im still on the fence of which I prefer, old BattleNetworks or this new stuff, but I will say its at least different, and at the 6th title in the series I think ill take that at face value.
Basically you have these special glasses that allow you to see the wave dimension or some shit, and you can use access spots to fuse with teh jerk alien and wander around wave world, hack into various objects...things you used to do in the earlier games. There isn't some dumb license crap, youre just trying to save the world n shit.
The story is 10x better than the earlier titles because again, its different and it doesnt reek of pokemon. I love how everyones manipulative and a jerk. The main character does nothing but skip school and has no fukin annoying friends, or friends period lol.
Im KINDA bothered by the focus on connected to other people's DS to link up or whatever. The tutorial presented put a lot of emphasis on this, but im hoping the in-game BrotherBands are as good, cause I dunno:
A.) Who the fuck else I know that will buy this.
B.) Who the fuck else wants to go through the hassle of the confusing host client 80 options link up menu.
Thats all ive got so far, I got about an hour in last night before switching to brave story.

You can't play this online against other people? Damn, Capcom.
This game bomb-bomb-CAPBOMBED in Japan. I can get it for like 1000 yen now (less than $10), but I want to play it in English, so I don't know what to do. I still have yet to complete Mega Man Battle Network 5 DS.
But this video looks nice...

Damn I might have to order it.

Its a fun game, and I think a welcome step away from 'the usual' battle network title.
-
Is the Battle Network series worth getting into?
-
The rule in the GBA series for me was to own the latest one, not all of them lol. They're all pretty much interchangable in terms of their basic elements, but the later ones always had more and more interesting gameplay stuff.
The DS one is different enough where you could own it and one of the MMBN games on GBA and not have a problem tho.

I thought people said that 4 and 5 sucked?
I only played through 1 and 2 so far and I thought both of them were good. I got into 3 a bit last year, but I stopped for some reason. I haven't touched 4-6 yet.

I liked 4 a lot, way more than 2 or 3. Didnt get 5 tho.
