Title: I do not feel as terrible as yesterday; maybe I require some BUYING therapy now
Post by: TVC15 on August 19, 2007, 03:25:00 PM
Okay, while still in pain (including newfound back pain gained via laying down all day yesterday), I feel that spending money may release enough endorphins for me to curb my pain for a potentially lengthy period of time.  So what should I buy.  I have plenty of spending money; it's no object.

Direct me on what I should spend on.  Now.

Why should I be settling for less than the best?

Up until 2 days ago, I was considering a Vaio with Blu-Ray.  Fortunately, I realized that I did not want to spend my money on CRAP.

:rofl

Did it have a BD-RW drive? I would actually want to get one when they become affordable (their still around $400). 25GB backups on disks would be awesome.

whiteman, how many laptops do you have atm?

Just an iBook and a MacBook Pro, which is why I want a PC notebook.

I don't think it was a BD-RW drive, but I could be wrong.  Actually, I wasn't considering a BD machine--BD notebooks are 15 inches minimum, which bigger than I want.

how do you use each of your laptops? do you have certain stuff that you can do one that you can't do on the other?

i remember this one time when you said that you had like 6 computers (laptops included) running at the same time and i was like :bow and :o.

I can always go pick up these Shaw Brothers reissues I apparently missed (thanks for the heads up, Hard Boiled DVD!)

My MacBook Pro is at my main PC desk, with my main desktop, for awesome simultaneous PC usage.

My iBook is in my bedroom.  It's what I use when I'm going to sleep, or otherwise bed-bound (like yesterday).  I used to have a second iBook that I used as basically my bathroom computer.  I got rid of it when I realized I really didn't need it.

The reason I want a new machine is that, for better or worse, my MBP isn't really a mobile machine.  It's been in for repairs way too many times for me to feel comfortable lugging it around.  I wouldn't hesitate to get a second one now that build quality is better, but I have to treat this one gently if I don't want it going in for repairs every other month. Apple sold me a lemon, and their replacement policy blows (the exact same thing has to break 3 times for them to consider offering a replacement).

The reason I want my new machine to be a PC is because, well, change of pace.  I can live with or without OSX or Vista--different OSes are little more than a change of scenery to me.  All of my personal notebooks of late have been Macs, so I want a PC for a change.

Assuming you could catch me. I tend to run in a zig zag motion, thus negating your wheelchair even more.
