Well the nice thing about Paranoia Agent and Eva is you can watch a few eps before or after something else. No huge commitment ;)

The lousiness of that Shield cover is getting me interested in the show.

I watched Labyrinth last night.  I oddly had to tear myself away from buying The Dark Crystal today.  I know I hate that movie, but the Labyrinthy goodness had me wantin to fuck some mup.


I get the impression that the folks behind the Shiel aren't happy with their covers, hence them switching up their motif for season 5.  Can't say I think it's great, but it's better than the 1-4 covers.

The 1-4 covers imply the show is all about Mackey, which isn't quite true.  And I hate when good shows are reduced down to being about their one big character, like the Shield and Sopranos, where the filthy masses tend to forget about everyone in the cast except for Mackey and Tony.  Both shows have great casts, and it's a terrible disservice to paint them as being only about their badass leads.  I was turned off from Sopranos and the Shield for a long time because I always figured the shows would just be brainless, thuggish, badassery; I was surprised to find out they were both much more than that, though I doubt the fans of the shows realize that.

The thing is, Mr. Rygar, the people that paint Mackey as a total badass aren't only doing a disservice to the rest of the cast, but to Mackey himself.  Heck, same goes for Tony Soprano.  Neither of them are anything near a one dimensional badass.  Mackey feels regret for the things he does, he has a conscience.  He worries about his family and goes mental when their are home issues.  Mackey is a good, well-rounded character; meatheaded fans just seem to cling to the moments when he is, say, putting someone's face up against a stove. 

After watching the first two seasons, there have definitely been multiple occasions where I have felt bad for Mackey, and you don't feel bad for badasses.

Just skip the episdoe Co-Pilot in season 2 :p  It's an episode so poorly done that it's kind of what made me take my break, despite being surrounded by an otherwise great season.

Unfortunately, it is difficult to explain why the episode is so poor without spoiling things.  I go over the episode on my blog, but I doubt it would make much sense without a familiarity with the show.  Let's just say that it sort of pointlessly almost-retcons assumptions that make sense, and replaces those assumptions with things that make little sense in the context of the series' timeline.

I deserve more credit.  Plus, Best Buy deserves more credit than anyone for selling the sets at 20 bucks a pop during a period when Prole was hungry to watch something.

watch the prestige and see how quickly you can guess what's actually going on (for me it was the first shot of the film)

I guess I will put the Prestige in.  I don't particularly like the idea of spending my Sunday afternoon watching yet another overrated Nolan movie, though.

Aww, a Ratatouille trailer.  I loved that movie <3  Best Pixar movie ever.

The image of a large number of identical hats in a field just immediately suggested a teleportation experiment gone wrong that was resulting in duplication, not displacement. Ridiculous as it sounds, it was the "simplest" explanation--far easier than "a hat truck had a big accident round these parts." From there it was a quick jump to start looking for dialogue and character traits that suggested duplication/duplicity. And Bob's your uncle, the movie's no fun for anyone.

i usually guess the big reveal in most movies pretty quickly. doesn't stop the REST of the movie from being great. unless they are m. night shymalan movies, because a herniated disc is better than m. night shymalan movies, including unbreakable.
