Title: DS Battery Woes

I may have to pick up a new DS this week or next. My current one runs out of charge in like 4 hours. Wtf. Do games with 3D or voice drain battery? What could be causing this. I charge it to full and never let it down all the way.

Lite or Phat?
If Lite, what setting do you have it on?
What gaems are you playing?

I'm playing Final Fantasy III on my DS Lite right now on the brightest setting, and from a full battery that lasts maybe around 5 hours.  It's not too unheard of.  The brightness just sucks the fuck out of the battery.

Hmmm, yeah my DS phat has been through two years and 31 games of service, and the battery doesnt last as long as it used to, still gets decent enough mileage (about 5-6 hours, i can handle that) but sounds like yours is getting tired too. Im not sure about games with voice and 3d consuming more battery, but I do know that GBA games consume half as much power

Its a Lite, been playing Luminous Arc for about 6.5 hours so far, just 3.5 or so on the latest charge with Heroes of Mana (yeah I know) for about 45 minutes. Heroes has some 3D, both have intro video that I didnt watch. Luminous Arc has some voice, but not a lot.

Might be a brightness issue, I just dont remember it draining this fast before.

Demi: Yeah but the DS isn't spinning a disc or running at 333mhz.

my psp with the bigger (2200 mAh as opposed to the default 1800 one) battery goes for 6-7 hours. that's 6-7 hours of RENGOKU 2 without recharge!
