I swear, MAF is a viral marketer for Microsoft/Bungie. He must get some sort of kickback from the Halo 3 awareness that comes with each sold Game Fuel.

You can't be viral when everyone knows that's where your paycheck is coming from.

I want Halo 3 so bad. Im almost finished with my latest Halo 2 play-through, im halfway through the third Halo novel, and I bought a Halo 3 poster for my office and have it pre-ordered. Also bought the WIRED mag for this month cuz master chief is on the front being all BADASS

Your Halo hype rubbed off on me. I wasted time playing Halo 2 on Vista instead of doing serious work this weekend. Vista Halo 2 is underrated. They did a lot more with the visuals than just port it over to be rendered in a higher res. I can tell the major improvements that they made w/ the cutscenes. Game also balances kb/m and joypad controls pretty well, unlike most console shooters that are ported to the PC. If you use a joypad, the game will help you aim a little just like in the Xbox version. If you use a kb/m, then you get no help. Game is a bit more buggy although I really haven't crashed as many times as some reviewers indicated.

at its core the gameplay in Halo 2 isnt awful, unfortunately from a technical standpoint the game is pretty rushed. I mean shit shouldnt render in front of me, thats just weird. The vehicle shit in Halo 2 is really top notch and a lot of fun, and the missions are a lot of fun. I think ive sold this game kinda short in the past but its still a much better experience than 90% of the other console FPS games out there.
<3 Tank/Bridge Mission

I think their "vision" of Halo 2 was more than the Xbox could handle. But, hey, at least they got a lot closer than Killzone, aka, Halo killer. Halo 2 on Vista, crashes aside, seem to have a lot less of the rendering in your face glitches that you mention. Give it a try when you can. If your PC is beefy enough, the game also feels more intense because you can have it running at 60fps instead of 30fps. I think it still looks pretty good at 1900x1200.

Haha, it was nice when Halo 2 DID run 30 on Xbox :(
I actually had a scene where the textures on the tank were popping in and out while the chief was talking lol

The biggest problem with halo 2 though is cramped level design compared to the first; it made it loss it's magic. :'(

Was Halo 2 really that bad on the Xbox 1? I remembered that it had less slowdown in Halo 1 and it was pretty smooth except for the cutscenes. That popping in and out crap happened with Gears of War and it was considered the best looking game ever. I guess next-gen hasn't solved everything yet.

Gears had pop in? I thought it just had a rasterizing problem. I had a blood test and saw this sign today.
