I'll get it. I need to finish PW2 tonight/tomorrow. I'm on the final day of the last case, but it's quite snoozeworthy :(
I wish the game didn't totally rely on guesswork in later stages. I mean it's cool when you get it and all, but when you have to present totally crazy unrelated random bullshit, it gets on my tits something fierce. Hopefully 3 will be worth the wait.
that was where PW2 really fell down IMO, too many obscure and almost random items to present, and I found myself 'dying' and having to save and reload all the damn time which wasnt too fun. Also I dont understand all the GAF love for the 4th case in PW2... so many feggits are like "Oh man, just you wait for the 4th case, its AMAZING." I just dont get it.
ACTUAL SPOILERS IN HERE DONT ROLL OVER IF YOU HAVENT PLAYED PW2 AND YOU MIGHT GIVE A SHIT IF YOU FIND OUT WHAT HAPPENS
spoiler (click to show/hide)
the 4th case is BS because most if the thrills I derived from Phoenix Wright is solving the mystery of the case and proving your client innocent. In the 4th case of PW2 you already know what has happened and you know your client is guilty and the bad guy. Totally fucks up any motivation to battle through the chapter if you ask me
Ichirou: I think the Jap release date is the 23rd, so check stores then (I think Play Asia shipped so pre-orderers will recieve the game on street date)
I thought the last case in PW2 was a clever twist.

They can't all be innocent, right? I mean, the Japanese justice system can't be presented as being THAT screwed up. They have to charge the right person at least once in a while.

I mean yeah it was different, but for some reason it just didnt click with me. although I did lol at the defendant's 'refreshing like a spring breeze' attitude. man that was a good joke
about 2/3 through the 1st case, and yes there is a couple of typos but why people are fussed about them I dont know, translation is as good as ever.

My hemhorroids are doing the Harlem Shake!
spoiler (click to show/hide)
The hemorrhoids thing is hilarious, I wonder if that was in the original version or if the translators added it. Have you heard the "her milkshake brings all the boys to the yard" line yet? That one made me laugh out loud.
Oh man there was a fucked up GAF reference in case 2... at least I think it was a GAF reference

I see Ive been forced to eat crow!
I finished case 3 yesterday and started on case 4. There was one point during the court proceedings on the first day that kept me stuck for a long while.
Mild spoilers for case 3

When you're trying to find a contradiction in the old man's testimony regarding the victim...that had me stuck for like an hour until I figured it out. It was actually ridiculously simple, but still...
spoiler (click to show/hide)
The thing with the coffee cup is like...wtf...the only way to notice it is to see which way the handle is facing on the picture. It's so simple, they even strongly hint at it during his testimony, but I still couldn't figure it out.
I agree, it's a lot better than PW2. My problems with PW2 were the fact that in a lot of cases the use of evidence and the trial segments didn't seem to flow logically. The weak point in PW3 for me is the prosecutor - with each case, I like Godot less and less. I was really hoping for a return by Franziska Von Karma at some point but it looks like that's not gonna happen. The music in PW1 is also the best in the series, by far - I wish they'd stuck with the "advantage" music from the first game throughout the entire series.
spoiler (click to show/hide)
Oh it wasnt the coffee cup that got me strangely, it was the bit where you had to press him about the victims back then present the apron. I dunno but that had me stumped
I agree with you about PW2 not flowing logically, too many of the contradictions were too random and convoluted (for a PW game!). As for the music, yep the objection music from PW1 is by far the best, and the tunes from that game are totally classic. Some of the good ones are re-used in 2 and 3, but each game has good unique tracks IMO, the cross examination music in 2 is totally awesome and the trial opening music in 3 is excellent too. I have all 3 OSTs on my iPod :P
I have the orchestral soundtrack, I bought it last year at TGS and it came with free Phoenix Wright paper dolls. :D :D :D

I didn't get stumped on the apron thing, that one was actually fairly easy for me to grasp, since he made the point that he didn't notice anything else in particular about the waitress...at first, I thought - okay, what's so special about Maggey? And the only thing I could think about were her glasses, but then I looked at the evidence and the apron with the big ketchup stain that the judge and Phoenix had made such a big deal about was a dead giveaway.
So you were able to figure out the coffee cup (well, looks like a teacup and probably is in the jp version) thing with no problems? It's interesting how two different people will get stuck on two entirely different things.
What'd you think about the girl with the bandage? Have you met her yet?
Oh man I want!
(The soundtrack that is, I'll try and DL from somewhere)
spoiler (click to show/hide)
Yeah it is weird, I guess evryones brain works a bit differently. What got me with the coffee cup was the description said 'covered in the victims and Maggey's fingerprints', which implied to me that the victim picked it up with both of his hands, as picking a cup up by the handle wouldnt leave prints. Ive only had a brief encounter with the bandaged girl, but she seems pretty creepy. And the fake Phoenix Wright is probably a bit too xtreme

The soundtrack is great and it has music from all three games in orchestral form.

The thing about the fake Phoenix is...it's pretty obvious that he's the guy in the restaurant who put the cyanide into the victim's coffee. Yet Maggey doesn't recognize him when he pretends to be Phoenix Wright later on? And neither does anybody else? lol, the characters in this series are so stupid sometimes. :lol
I thought the last case in PW2 was great, though I understand it has many detractors. Thought it was such a cool twist on things.
Some spoilers about case 4:
spoiler (click to show/hide)
It's another flashback case with Mia Fey. No investigation scenes, just a courtroom trial. It ties in to the first case in the game, and I'm guessing the fifth case will tie into it as well. Both case 1 and case 4 deal with Dahlia Hawthorne. Since they take place chronologically in reverse (case 4 is Mia's first case as an attorney, case 1 is actually her second case as an attorney), case 4 serves to give you background on how Mia first encountered Dahlia and why there's a grudge between the two of them.
I imagine the fifth case will deal with Dahlia coming back and trying to get her revenge on Maya or Phoenix or someone, since Mia herself is already dead.
Finished the 3rd case and started on case 4 last night.
spoiler (click to show/hide)
Good to see Mia back in case 4, and Edgeworth! That Armando character looks a lot like Godot... Im really keen to learn the connection there. Apparently everything all comes together in case 5... cant wait!
Spoilers for those who've reached case 4:
spoiler (click to show/hide)
Well, it's pretty obvious that Godot is Armando. Dunno why he hates Phoenix - and according to case 1, Diego Armando was killed by poisoning by Dahlia Hawthorne - so apparently Godot faked his own death or something.
I'm on case 5 now.

Hahaha, totally pedo - he dated her when she was 14 and he was 20.

The thing is, they could have easily changed it so he was younger when he dated her...even if he were like, 17 or something, it would be a bit less sketchy. Wonder if they'll change it for the US version. :lol
Finished the game last night.
END GAME SPOILERS
spoiler (click to show/hide)
The last case was totally awesome, a fitting end to the trilogy, as all the loose ends from all 3 games came together and tied up in one super case. The truth about Godot was totally heart wrenching and sad, I almost cried. Truly one of the top cases from the Phoenix Wright games, the 4th case from PW1 was about as good.
All in all an awesome game, if Pw2 disappionted you (It disappoionted me) Pw3 totally redeems that. Was kind of sad to say goodbye to that cast of characters, but Im really looking forward to Apollo Justice
