Title: Luminous Arc - Anyone else playing it?

The Kopin segments are the fucking best, so cryptic and hilarious.

Leon is the king of PAIN. I basically just had him charge up a hill against 6 monks with my priest behind him comboing with water spells while I sent the 6 other people to stall the bosses till Leon looped around to kill the bosses lol

I am but I also have Heroes of Mana and Rune Factory on the go. Not sure if it's worth it to finish it.

Not sure about Rune Factory tho, isnt that some harvest moon game.

Ich: Im liking it just for the characters at this point lol. The dialogue is really snappy and fun, and there's a lot of story and character interplay unlike say FFTA. 8 hours the games balance is pretty broken with my main tank/dmg guy dealing out 250-300 an attack. I almost one shotted a boss with one of the super specials lol.

Yeah, it's the "fantasy" Harvest Moon, and PSP has the "futuristic" Harvest Moon.  I dunno wtf is up with those.

I always try those out and lose interest, could be I just dont like those kinds of games. NEVER AGAIN! Im trying to finish Luminous Arc before I get Jeann D'arc or whatever it is, but I dunno if ill be able to pull it off :(

I played through the SNES and PSX Harvest Moons but I have both the PS2 and Gamecube iterations (Save the Homeland and It's A Wonderul Life) and never got that far in either.

Should I get Chulip?

I hated FFT it was like you needed a guide for everything  :-\
On the recommendation of MAF I will continue on with Luminous Arc. I have never played a Harvest Moon game though but this one seems to have fighting so it should no be boring.

Luminous Arc is insanely easy and moves at a pretty brisk pace. If you dont enjoy it by chapter 8 i'd cut n run. Im in chapter 12 myself at about 8 hours play. 30 minutes of that was me reading forums and forgetting it was on lol.

I already have a ton of RPGs and stuff on the backlog, so I'm not interested in something that's entry-level and average.  I'll skip Luminous Arc and move on to something else...maybe Rocket Slime.

I got bored with rocket slime, its pretty easy tho and at least a very good use of the stylus. The tank battles were the hardest part of the game I thought cause its IN UR FACE

Rocket Slime was ridiculously easy, especially the Tank Battles. All you had to do was launch into their tank and sit there and camp their cannons. I even did it to the last boss.

Its hard to keep on top of new games for me as I gotta import 'em all, but I will pick up Luminous Arc as soon as Im done with Etrian Odyssey. Ive convinced myself Im gonna 100% that game because its like the 2nd best handheld RPG Ive played (maybe not get all the rare item drops but at least do all the floors, finish all the quests and beat all the bosses). And PW3 is in in the post so thats another diversion for me a week or so.

Did you finish Etrian Odyssey MAF?

It was like impossible to die in Rocket Slime. Huge health bar + Health pickups all the time and if that wasnt enough you could buy healing items that you could carry around with you too. Great game though, full of fun, colour and personality. (and the puns OMG)

I thought you did because you seemed to be pretty anti-PS3.  So I guess the PS3 still has a chance to sway you over.

Im planning to get a 360 soonish, just gonna try and finish my PS2 backlog first.

I highly doubt that I'll get a PS3, the only game I want to play on it right now is VF5, and the only upcoming game Im interested in is MGS4. 360 has tons of games that Im keen to play Bioshock, Gears, Mass Effect, Halo 3, Blue Dragon, Lost Planet, DMC4 etc.

Also I live in New Zealand where the PS3 costs sooooo much damn money:

$1200 NZ for a PS3 and $649 NZ for a 360, so 360 is pretty much half the price of PS3. Last time I checked 1 NZ dollar was equal to 75 US cents, so effectively as PS3 here costs around $900 US which is just way too much fucking money

Damn, that's a crazy price difference.  It's definitely a no-brainer for you.  Even at the same price, the 360 would probably be a better choice, unless you're someone that wants built-in HD movies capability or you're paranoid about the 360's stability issues.

Nah Im not worried about 360 crapping out, the things got a 3 year warranty now and most shops will sell you a sweet service deal for a bit extra

Im on chapter 15 I think now. Chapter 14 was really annoying. Your whole party starts in a small pit surrounded by enemies that cast area spells. Took 4 tries, and grinding in between but I rocked that bitchorz. First hard mission in the game.

And no, didnt finish Etrian Odyssey. I have a bad habit of not finishing games lol.

I like Luminous Arc, it's disposable fun. It doesn't burden you insane customization and the characters are quite stupid\funny. Story is generic evil church but whatever.
