Tomorrow before my classes, I'm going to another local college to apply for a food service position there. I have my application, resume, and letter of interest as requested per their website, and I'll be handing it all in to the Human Resources department.
Since I was planning on going straight to my school afterward, I was going to wear jeans, sneakers, and a tank. Is this a bad idea? I doubt I'd get interviewed on the spot being that it's the first day of a new semester, but I don't know.
Help. =)

Depending on how low cut the tank is, I think you'll be fine in either circumstance.
Also, unless it's a manager position, I don't think they'll expect you to be dressed any more formally than that anyway.

Just remember: you only get one chance to make a first impression. ;)
Good luck!

Exactly. I'd shred the application of anyone showing up like that for a job.

post pics of yourself in the tank top and we'll let you know if it's too low cut

Unless shit has changed a LOT in the food service industry since I did my toil, I don't think anyone is going to be too pissed if she doesn't show up in a business suit.
Of course, Shuri has an hysterical cunt take on things. YMMV.
-
she doesn't have to show up in a suit, but she should show up somewhat dressed up.
-
For a job in the FOOD SERVICE INDUSTRY? Maybe I'm misunderstanding something.
-
i dunno. maybe i just like to give good impressions everywhere i go. but i wouldn't apply for any job in my normal shit clothes.
-
I got shit on for wearing cargos and a sonic shirt for a Toys R Us interview -- I mean, it's just a RETAIL JOB RITE?
So... wear something decent regardless of what you do.
-
Yeah I wouldn't go all out, but a bit classier than tshirt and jeans. A nice skirt and a presentable blouse or something.

I AM VINDICATED I AM SELFISH I WRONG I AM RIGHT I SWEAR I'M RIGHT I SWEAR I KNEW IT ALL ALONG AND I AM FLAWED, BUT I AM CLEANING UP SO WELL. I AM SEEING IN ME NOW THE THINGS YOU SWORE YOU SAW YOURSELF.
SO TURN UP THE CORNERS OF YOUR LIPS, PART THEM WITH YOUR FINGERTIPS, FEEL THE MOMENT FOR FOREVER.

Um, demi... I'm talking about A JOB IN THE FOOD SERVICE INDUSTRY. Not retail. If she said she was applying for a gig at JcPennys, my response would have been different!
I'm sure you're a shithead to anyone interviewing you, based on your e-persona. I'm sure that says a lot more about you than the Sega shirt you wore.
-
Well, I just dropped the application in the drop box lol. I'll definitely be wearing business attire to the interview, if they call me in for one.
