Title: Big Lots is so awesome
Post by: Fragamemnon on August 27, 2007, 04:30:37 PM
Big Lots is so great-shit strewn all around the store, penny-penching people roaming around aimlessly looking at bad merchandise, tons of wtf-how-old-is-that food-it's just a consumer experience without peer-think of it as a Walmart that doesn't attempt to cover and hide its true nature.

But why is Big Lots so especially awesome today? A picture is required:

Truly no finer piece of computer entertainment has ever been produced. Screenshots and impressions when I get off work later tonight.

I also bought some lesser quality computer entertainment (Psychonauts because I lost my copy in my move, and K2 because I never played it :(, thanks CAMELOT. The Guild Gold version since I never played the xpack, and a couple of adventure games for the laptop).

So yeah, Big Lots is awesome.

I still haven't played Swat 4.  That's the one Irrational did, right?

Yep, it is. It was on sale there too for six bucks, but I bought it some time ago. It's a really good shooter, as was the other FPS Irrational did before it, Tribes: Vengeance.

Paradise was an impulse buy-I know it's bad, but I needed another adventure game to play on my laptop and I liked Syberia.

Runaway is pretty cool, I had played the demo but didn't want to pay full price for it.

Syberia was great, but that is probably my raging Eurofaggotry kicking in-Sokal being Belgian probably doesn't help me give a clear impression of the game either.

Theres also a Big Lots in the area and a more yokel local version called Building 19. Now Building 19 I have sneaking suspicions about...I think its like cloaked a retail version of The Good Will. They must hide the fact that their merchandise was donated.

They had some other stuff too-I saw the Godfather and Tony Hawk's American Wasteland for $4 each for the PC.

A guy I work with raids Big Lots on a weekly basis, he's apparently found 360 games at the one in Kent, WA.

That's some cool stuff that you have at your Big Lots.  My big lots doesn't carry any good software but I found a really cheap hdmi cable for my cable box.  Which was surprising since who would expect Big Lots to sell Hdmi cables?  They've also got cereal at really cheap prices.  The expiration dates look all right but I don't know if they could be getting some 3rd rate stock from Kellog's.  So far, I haven't gotten sick from the Special K that I got there.  Maybe I just got lucky?

That will be hard to do, since that game doesn't appear to be a licensed product of the U.S. Lawnmower Racing Association (http://www.letsmow.com/index.asp) like Lawnmower Racing Mania 2007 is. I demand authenticity from my games!

ladies and gentlemen I think we've found our FIRST POINT OF DISTINCTION from Evilbore's foremost lawnmower racing game expert

does it have a soundtrack of licensed "mow-town" hits

also, how would you say it compares with

Hmm, it seems really hard to find older/more obscure PC games in brick and mortar stores - BB, CC, and of course EB/GS seem to be really lacking... didn't know Big Lots carried older PC games (I thought it was like a Cheap Johns or something), I should check this out.

holy shit-I was poking around for more info about this game, and I found out that it has "licensed" drivers too-apparently such greats such as Bruce Kaufman -- aka "the Sodfather" and Charles Powell., aka Mr.MOWjangles are included.

This is so hilarious, I've finally found a sporting organization more embarassing to be in than my 15-year-long membership in the American Contract Bridge League.
