I used to always use my comp on my 20' CRT monitor that I'm using now, which I thought was great, but 4 months ago I bought a 22' LCD monitor and loved it even more, until it broke this morning (just turned off and the power lght kept blinking) so I'm going to have to send it back for a refund, although I'm guessing this is a common issue because a guy from GAF had the same problem. Anywhoo, I just now plugged my old monitor back in, and....wow, this sucks. I really miss it:(

It's because of the BLACKS, isn't it?

yes it does.

My graphics card has 2 DVI inputs is there anyway to connect a VGA/HDMI cable to it?

Depends on the LCD you're used to compared to the LCD you're using. i'm use twin 19" Sony LCDs at work, and go home to 19" Samsung CRT. The Samsung was an expensive model when i bought it, and it's still kicking. It's a bit more soft and warm than the Sonys, but it's not a bad transition. What's worse is the lack of two displays.

If not for glare, CRT still looks better. And I have a $700 24 inch LCD monitor.

Question: Is it normal for quality to go down/look differently when connected through VGA? I managed to get it connected via a VGA->DVI adaptor and there was some geometry issues and the text look blurry. I managed to fix the geometry issue with the monitors control panel, but the blurry text is still there.

If your monitor has a DVI then it's better to use DVI most of the time.

I figured but since my DVI port is broken there's not much I can do.
