I have my phone set to just vibrate when a call or message comes through. Nothing is more annoying to me than a ringing phone, even if its one of those fancy mp3 tunes. On vibrate, if it rings in the office or somewhere that I shouldn't be answering it I can just ignore it and noone is the wiser, instead of fumbling to get it out of my pocket and switch it off while everyone looks at me.
-
well i carry my phone in my purse, so vibrate is pretty useless to me. but i agree that mp3 ringtones are god-fucking-awful, so i just use the default sony ericsson ring on gradual volume.
-
Mine rings "The Mixed Tape" by Jack's Mannequin. I only have it on though if I'm like, at home, or walking around the mall or something. At school or work or anyplace it shouldn't be ringing, it's turned on silent. No ring, no vibrate (because you can hear that, too), just silent. That way I can still use my phone to check the time, since it's not turned off. :D

I don't like phone ringtones, so I use MP3s. But most of the time my phone is on vibrate anyway...always use manner mode in public.
My ringtone is "Jump" by Van Halen. It got stuck in my head because a phone company here kept using it in their radio and TV ads.
-
haha, jump would be cool

Agreed.

I used to use Panama too back home. The beginnings of both songs work well as ring tones. :)

in high school i had the zelda theme for the longest time -- then i got a new phone and realized i had gone a bit overboard with the nerdiness, so i stuck with the simple ringtones from then on.
-
At one point I used the opening theme to Street Fighter III Third Strike as a ringtone. :-[

The music in the street fighter games was always pretty sweet

It's...It's...it's a cheesy rap song over a techno beat. :-[ :-[ :-[

Ouch, and people said Street Fighter 3 was the best :S

It's cheesy in a good way, I guess. :) The SF3 games all are mostly techno beats, and there's some nice tunes in them. The styles of SF3 New Generation and Second Impact are pretty different from Third Strike though, and I prefer the older games' BGMs, especially the original ones in New Generation. Love the Ryu/Ken theme in that game.

My phone sounds like a phone. I've never felt the need to have it play a song or something.
-
I'm still using that ringtone in the movie Crank. Where it sounds like the ringer is all wobbly as if your tripping balls on something.
I have a shitty Cell too, so I had to use some aftermarket Data Cable and some illegal Data Transfer Program for the phone I then had to fuck with the original MP3. I had to turn it into a mono WAV file and some certain bitrate. OH GOD IT HURTS
-
nope, i just put it on vibrate for both phonecalls and messages.
i do have the mgs codec ringtone on my phone, though. :-[
-
Just a standard ring here, songs are weird.

It's only nerdy if it was the Zelda 1 underworld/dungeon theme. If so, marry me :-*

I have a standard ring tone on mine but it sounds like video game music and sometimes I bust a move to it. :nuhuh
-
I have my phone on vibrate then ring. I use a standard ring tone. I don't get using MP3s as ring tones.

I like how some people agonize over choosing a song for their phone that defines them or something, then the instant it rings in public theyre embarassed and rush to answer lol.
-
Mine's usually on vibrate, but if i use a ringer it's the CTU ringer (24). Sounds like a phone when it rings, not an MP3 player. i hate hate hate musical ringers, mostly because people don't at least turn them down in public.
And yeah, i'm using the MGS codec ringer for messages. It was a pretty obvious choice at the time, but i want to change it to something less common.
-
i have Muse - Sunburn but it's the shitty version, not the real song with lyrics or anything. Sounds like music from 8 bit video games.
I don't mind ring tones, but I don't think there's anything I want everyone to hear when people call.
