Basically, Videodrome (which I watched at many of the members of this forum's suggestion) is a commentary on how the media could possibly influence people to do things they otherwise wouldn't. Basically, at the start of the movie, the lead character Max (played by James Woods) is a television executive for a small network known for showing "softcore porn and hardcore violence" (as stated in the film). He comes across this show on a pirate satellite feed called Videodrome, which he attempts to track down. Videodrome eventually makes Max begin to hallucinate. Insanity occurs.
It's definitely worth a watch. My college has some horrible aspects, but I swear, whenever I want to see a movie, it's like they fucking shit out the Criterion DVD of it and put it on the shelves.
BTW, there's some very inventive effects and of course the psychological and moral aspects of the film are amazing. It's not the best film I've ever seen by far, but it's a good one.

LONG LIVE THE NEW FLESH! I actually had a friend who picked up the DVD, and since that's inscribed on the outside of the case, he thought it was a porno. Although, in a way, he was right... it does show clips from a porno filmed specifically for that film.

Yeah, Videodrome rocks. I almost watched it to wash the foul stench of Rob Zombie's Halloween from my PC.
