Title: Rogue Galaxy - was this worth the Level 5 wankery?
Post by: demi on September 03, 2007, 02:09:17 PM
I just picked it up at KMart on their clearance rack for $20 -- turns out it was $15! Not bad.

Also picked up a Viva Pinata LE, and Rayman Raving Rabbids for $20 each.

Surprisingly, they had a nice selection on the cheapie rack, especially for 360. You guys should check your KMarts out, if you have one.

I just started Disc 2. My clock is at 27 hours, so subtract about 5 hours due to idling and it's a pretty short first disc.

I played Rogue Galaxy a bit. I heard that essentially the first few hours are really good and then they introduce a character/plot twist that makes the game absolute shit.

bluemax, eh? i played a good 20 hours and never encountered anything like that -- plus, the plot was shit to begin with!

are you sure you aren't thinking of star ocean 3, the other spacebound rpg with real-time combat?

No I'm pretty sure this was what people told me about RG. I only played a little of the jungle planet before I got bored.

I never finished SO3 either so I don't know how the plot twist in that was handled, although I know what it was.

Yeah, I toyed around with God of War II and Kingdom Hearts 2. I need to start catching up on games I'm missing.

I am trying to think of what to give you in return.

Yeah, I was the same way. I did that with a lot of PS2 RPGs, played between 2-5 hours, said I'd pick it up again but never really felt it. The graphics were nice and the difficulty seemed to be there, but nothing else really made me want to keep going.
