Post by: Beezy on September 05, 2007, 01:42:51 AM
Growlanser Generations

Otogi Myth of Demons
Silpheed: The Lost Planet

There are others, but I can't remember them right now.

All of those are pretty lame. What are the others? There's gotta be a game you saw that's worth a check.

Otogi is good and pretty hard to find, so I'll get it.  I haven't been able to find the 2nd one although many people, like Prole, have said that it's even beter.

I've seen SMT: Digital Devil Saga 2 around, but I never see DDS1. :(

I saw Advent Rising, but it was $19.99.

Games that I've bought in the past few days:

Zone of the Enders: 2nd Runner
Valkyrie Profile 2
Rez
Ico
Shenmue 2 (It was 6 dollars...)

I was also thinking about getting Wild Arms 3 for $15.

All these games are good, except ICO and Shenmue. I haven't played VP2 but I imagine it's better than the shitfest the original was. Or at least it looks better.

I hardly have any Xbox games. I needed something to play on it besides JSRF.

Did you get PD:Ortz, Gaiden:Black, Rallisports 2?  They are must-haves for any Xbox owner.

I say you should buy;

- Growlancer Generations...2 Growlancer games, 1 great price!

- Otogi - YES but it doesnt work on X360....

- Silpheed - YES - one of my fave scripted/strategic shumps....even if it has an odd difficulty curve.

Only PD:Orta. I can't find NG:Black. I've never noticed Rallisports 2 anywhere, but if it's a sim racer, I don't want it.

I can't find Outrun either. :(

You say yes, Drinky and demi say no. Anyone else?

Get Fable: The Lost Chapters, Nizzle

Okay, I'll look for that too. I enjoyed the bit of Fable that I played.

Rallisports 2 isn't a sim racer although it's not as arcadey as Burnout either.  Rallisports 2 was the best looking and funnest racer that I played in the last gen.  It seriously looks better than many next-gen racers.

Growlancer reminds me of Shining force on SEGA CD. Plus merging 2 monsters to make new monsters is BRILL (think SMT demon merging).

Silpheed is cool but super easy till a certain point 4/6 of the way thru it where it becomes hair pulling hard.....

A little too heavy on the FMV and in between stage mission briefings for most shooter fans - its all skippable tho.

Abrader, I've never played a Growlanser, Shining Force, or a SMT game. I have Persona 3, but I've barely touched it.

I own Fable lost chapters and have only played it once - so far it didnt impress visualy (playing on X360) and i must say i thought it kinda sucked and I dont know when ill care to spend more time on it....may even trade it.

MAF, tell Bezzy to get Rallisports 2.  He seems skeptical about my recommendation.

I have looked every where and i can't find Ninja Gaiden: Black nor Fable: Lost Chapters.  :(
Xbox games are impossible to find, but I did get MvC2 for $8 while searching.

With that said PD: Orta is terrible, fuck I feel like giving it away because getting money for this feels criminal.

Anyway get Otogi it's probably one of the best action games from the xbox gen.

Rallisport Challenge 2 is one of the best rally games ever made. Im still not sure how they made the Xbox pull that shit off.

Growlanser Generations - Yes, as long as you don't mind really shitty graphics.  Gameplay is awesome.
La Pucelle Tactics - Yes, if you like homojapuality at its finest.  It bears some similarity to Rhapsody and Disgaea.
Otogi Myth of Demons - I hear it's kewl, never played it myself, though.
Silpheed: The Lost Planet - Dunno.
Amplitude - Dunno.
Frequency - Dunno.

La Pucelle Tactics, from what ive heard, is the NIS release that has the most broken mechanics and stupid boob fanservice. Do yourself a favor and steer clear. If you wanna be punished pick up Phantom Brave because while its story is bullshit and horrbile, the mechanics are sound and the game is a lot of fun.

My favorites:
Makai Kingdom
Disgaea 1 & 2

How can people have not played Frequency and Amplitude, those are amazing games!

The worst NIS game to come out in the States is still Rhapsody (published by Atlus).  It's so bad.  So, so, so bad.  At least it's only like 12 hours long.

Wow, that's impressive.  They sell that for $80 used at Gamestop.  It's one of the most highly sought games on the Xbox.

I think I'll pass on La Pucelle. I don't want the Disgaea games either. They cost too much.

I still haven't made up my mind about Growlanser (the graphics won't bother me).

Makai Kingdom is cheap usually, it got decent distribution.

Growlanser 2 seemed cool the 2 hours I put into it, but the lead character has a bigger lisp than half of Chelsea, the graphics are kinda gritty, bland prerendereds with weak sprite work but I don't think its that horrible. I got La Pucelle for $2 but never even opened it :P

Heh. The game that I saw was Fantavision, not Frequency. :(

Anyway, I picked up Amplitude for $10 and I found Ninja Gaiden Black for $20.

I saw Fable: The Lost Chapters for $20 also, but I decided not to get it yet. RSC2 is nowhere to be found.

Yeah, it was. It seems like PS2 owners are selling off their games or something. A lot of hard to find games have been showing up recently. Still no SMT: Nocturne or DDS1 though.
