Title: Official Dynasty Warriors Gundam Thread
Post by: MrAngryFace on September 10, 2007, 11:36:57 PM: We'll i've already dropped 12 hours into this game so I figured we could all DISCUSS since I know a lot of you have it. After EXTENSIVE research, I think Gundam Mk II is the best in the game. See, its like Gundam, all ICONIC, but then there's some upgrades that make it look BADASS but its approach to fighting is still PRACTICAL. I wish I could select the black version, not yet tho. Black Gundam Mk II = KING.

I've only completed Amuro in Official Mode, and Zechs and Hero in Original Mode. I am SO CLOSE to beating Original with a few other characters but I was gunning for a few achievements tonight, and got one of them when I maxed Heero's pilot level out at 30. I've moved on to hard cause a level 10 Wing Zero and a level 27 Heero was pretty cheesy with all the items and skills. So I decided to go even further and take a LEVEL 2 Gundam Mk II out against the first Original mission on hard with a level 29 Heero, and lemme tell you, some close fucking calls. Musou Gundam almost finished me twice with its supers, and Zechs was a fucking whore about the whole deal.

You know what I love about this game? It has a NO ENERGY BAR option. That means if im REALLY hardcore I should just 'know' how much more my suit can take. Anyway im going to complete Official Mode with the Gundam Mk II and try to beat master fuckhead asia with BURNING GUNDAM, but I might cheese and knock it to easy for that fight. Master Asia fights are IMO the hardest in the game.

Its name is GOD GUNDAM in Japan. Can't believe they're still using the Cartoon Network edited name. :'(

If the Gundam Mk II is the Gundam in the demo, then yeah I really like that one (of course its the only one I've used). I'm going to buy it eventually, however these next few months are going to be wallet rape.

I dunno if a Super Gundam would qualify as Jet Mode for one of these games. The Super Gundam is basically the Gundam Mk. II combined with the G-Defenser (a fighter craft) which is supposed to increase its maneuverability/speed.

Zeta was the first Gundam to transform so I'm guessing it has jet mode too. :D

I beat Domon's campaign and UNLOCKED MASTER CHEESY ASIA. I barely beat Master Asia with Domon on NORMAL, I mean it was down to no visible health vs his no visible health, I just got off the lucky musou. Pretty sure he's the hardest boss-type in the game.

was using heero and his default mech (lvl 24 at the time). my strategy was X, X, Y, A. the "A" part kept knocking him down giving me enough time to setup and do it again. i got caught up in his supers a few times and almost died. it's hard to escape the barrage, especially if you get locked into an +ATTACK for 15 sec.

i had to run and charge up musou a few times as well. whew, it was a close one.

Basically, when it was with Heero, I let him hit me to red so I could switch to jet mode while my musou recharged then double back, blast him, then jet mode..etc etc.

Domon was harder cause he's short range, plus Master Asia was splitting into multiple copies n shit but they were easy but his final form am cry.

sucks too because even if you interim save before the battle, you have to start the entire mission over if you fail. wtf @ that.

I think they're waiting for the sequel to add in a bunch more mechs. It's typical Omega Force milking.

Post by: hyp on September 13, 2007, 02:14:26 PM: okay i beat the game again on original using heero and milliardo's gundam. finally maxed out heero. sucks that you need to stick w/ the same pilot to get the "skills" achievement. i would prefer to use others and just have the skills available throughout each pilot. oh well, too much of a grind anyhow. master asia was a lot easier this time around, but i did have to resort to finding some extra armor.

Its really hard to toe to toe with him at lower levels. I fear his hard form lol. His gundam is stupid cheesy with its shot rate tho lol. Im gonna keep grinding with Heero on the side, Im only maybe halfway to the 50,000 shot down acheivement.

i'm probably light years away from the 50k shot down. i barely get 1k kills after each mission, mainly because i focus on killing guards and bosses. still, this game rocks.

It's still pretty popular, I think, because its model kits are still easily found. My cousin got me one of the bigger kits a few years ago.

I guess they're purposely witholding it for the sequel or the next one after that. It had to be intentional since this is one of the more famous designs.

The arcade game has online play, so you can fight co-op or vs. against the computer or other players.

I gotta tell ya, Fighting Instinct is the best pilot skill in the game. No knockback. EVER. No matter what they throw. Plus the item combinations im getting are fucking nuts. I also got my first special special item which is the musou unit, its stats are mostly def oriented, but discovering item combinations is half the fun. Hard mode has definately breathed some new life into the game for me.

I got the 50 missions completed achievement tonight, I wanna get the 8 pilots in original mode but the master asia mission is kickin my ass. I am grinding him on the side tho. Soon he will destroy all.
