I don't think the kind of PS2-level third party support by Western companies is ever going to materialize like the ninthings so desparately want. Wii = mascot games and wacky jappy games, provided the latter don't just get made for the PSP or DS instead.

Bioshock will have good legs all the way through Christmas, too. Take Two really just might sell 2.5 million worldwide at full price before all is said and done.

For what it is worth, the game was only out for like four days before the close of the sales period. Still, it wouldn't have gotten anywhere near Bioshock on just the 360 even if it was out over the same period Bioshock was.

Level design is the worst of the 3 3D Metroids. Its sad that they peaked with the first game in the series.

It's good to see Bioshock and Metroid topping "real gaming" as you all would put it.
And 3rd party sales and Sports title sales are two different beasts. Sports titles sold well on Xbox, but Japanese third party titles did not. The sports gamer rarely buys outside of the sports sim genre. It's a large, but singular sales driving force.

The reasoning being that more games > more console sales > more games.
Madden's never really sold well on Nintendo consoles. Even on SNES, I believe. And there was no reason for Madden on Wii to sell better either, since everyone said it's actually a step back from last year.
Not to mention most were probably waiting for Metroid anyway.

Oh, I agree. It's utterly pitiful. And I'm surprised it was doing worse than GC, when last year the Wii and PS3 versions sold about the same (and higher). Was just pointing out that Metroid probably had an effect. Nothing came out last year in August for GC I think.

As for MP3, I think the first MP is still king as far as 3d metroids is concerned. They nerfed the backtracking and exploration of metroid for mp3 and thats bullshit.

Those Madden sales for the 360 vs the PS3 are pretty staggering. I know the PS3 only has about 1/3 of the install base, but Sony had relied heavily on attracting the "Madden gamer" the past two generations. Appears they are losing that contigent of the fanbase.
