Didn't see any one else posting about it, and it's definitely an interesting read:

So, the obvious question is, why are you at Gamefest?
Keiichi Yano: That's probably the biggest question I can't answer, but I guess there is an obvious answer, and a not-so-obvious answer. We've always been Xbox developers. A lot of people don't know this, but we've been doing graphics engines and game engines on 360 for awhile now.

thanks. it was nice to track someone interesting down at gamefest. not too many japanese developers sadly. they need to get on the tech train pronto.

that was a pretty good read

Ferr: Agreed. I'm guessing a lot of them aren't confident enough with their English to go to many of the western conferences.

he mentioned something I'd heard from the Japanese side, before; namely, Unreal 3 development is horrid because the documentation is scanty and unless you have a super brilliant programmer who ALSO speaks English you are going to miss out on 3/4 the information available to you.
I'm sure Epic outsourced their tech docs once 15 months ago and called it a day for Japan.
