I'm going to control my hostilities towards everyone, and I will try my best to be nice.
This is the Happy Rhymenocerous from now on. Consider me the best friend you could ever have.

Reruns.

I'm serious this time.

Welcome back. I was able to come back a new man, and I'm guessing you can too

the new pd hasn't been too bad, frankly. you still have questionable opinions on movies and politics, but i'm not picking up the poser vibe. keep it up!
-
Prole, I fancy you.
-
You should turn a new leaf and send him some flowers Lemurs.
-
I'm not Lemurs.

Then I guess you missed the thread where PD said the surge in Iraq is working, and when asked by various people to back up his statement with some sources, just ignored them and said "my opinions are all based on facts."
-
who r u?
Yeah, I honestly can't remember who the rhino is.
-
It's stocky.

I love PD. He's like a distinguished mentally-challenged little brother.

we've got to fight them over there so we don't have to fight them over here!

I promise I won't make fun of you, but I really, really want to know where you read or heard that the surge was working. Was it a newspaper article, news website, or someplace else?
-
From a military standpoint the surge has shown success. Even democrats are admitting this in congress
http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2007/08/21/AR2007082102025.html
But as I said, the surge is not going to help the political issues in Iraq which is the real problem
-
Oh, Jesus, don't trust a conservative rag like the Washington Post. Of the 18 goals that were originally presented, the surge has met 3. THREE. TRES.
-
9 of the 18 were met overall correct? Or, 9 of the 18 weren't met if you're a "glass is half empty, mother fucker" type person, like myself
I'm sure you agree that a political solution is needed here, correct? I doubt we differ too much, although I don't know where you stand on withdrawal

No, not 9 out of 18. That's the political spin the White House is putting on things to make it seem like they met half their goals. It's really 3 out of 18. The other 6 are goals that they feel can eventually be met.
They've really changed the rules a lot to spin this report...did you know that nowadays assassinations in Iraq only count (statisticswise, the person is dead regardless) if the person is shot in the back of the head? So any other type of death is ruled out as an assassination, including car bombs?
-
Why do you hate america?
-
Because its government really sucks nowadays. The sad thing is, I love the ideals the country was founded on. It's just horrible to see the government failing its citizens in such a way.
Read up on how politicized the surge has become (on both sides) and how the Bush administration has manipulated statistics and changed definitions of "goals achieved" to make things look rosier in Iraq than they actually are. I did, and it was scary to me (and I'm not hardcore into politics like Mandark).
-
3 out of 18, says the GAO. (http://www.talkingpointsmemo.com/docs/gao-report/)
In what sense is the surge working "militarily"?
-
Come on guys, this is supposed to be a happy thread.
