Traxxpad is an application that promises to transform Sony's PSP into a powerful piece of professional music studio equipment. Traxxpad blends the power of sequencers, drum machines, and keyboards, allowing anyone to create, mix and sample their own tracks at home or on-the-go.

Is it really that tho?

I get that these software "gizmos" all like to have their own interface, and i certanly admit that is part of the fun - but after spending several hours playing without reading the manual - I really just dont get TraxxPad at all.

Look at this;

OK - so you can basically set up 8 sample channels...(4 face buttons using L1 to tab between the A and B set)

It has multiple modes that are given esoteric names which is annoying. Fortunately the game contains in game documentation telling you what these modes are, but after you read them you will say what the feck still after reading. They should have jjust stripped out the art-faggory and made the menu items make sense. As far as what style this follows? Imagine SpecialK sniffing West coast tekno brats and 98 LB all girl cocaine social clubs.

I feel that this game loses some functionality to bad art design and a too eccentric interface (listen to me the guy who plays LAIR saying this is eccentric) but for a music thought stimulation tool, or something you would use to lay down some beats, etc for a larger composition (you can export to MP3 of course better method is to line out into a more competent sampling device)

I am going to give it more time and practice using it.... I did eventually get brill at Digital HitzFactory for PS2 and managed to get much creativity out of its sequencers.

Did anyone else pick this up ? What do you think?
