It's true. This game is better than the entire Wii launch lineup. If you haven't played it, you're a fatty mcpoop and you possibly work for GameLife.
That said, this game is wracking my rather mediocre RTS micromanagement skills hardcore. I really hafta think beyond the "mass units and click on the mini-map" mentality of other RTS titles, and instead focus on the immediate terrain, searching out cover for my infantry and finding good locations to fortify. Bullet-list obsessed tools bitch that there are only two sides -- Axis and Allies -- but the different specialties diversify strategy, and unit variety is not nearly as important as serious micro skills. There is no rush whatsoever in this game; there is only the strength of your ground-level tactics.
Plus it looks better than any 360 or PS3 game. I WENT THERE.

But I don't like RTS games. You're saying it's a pretty PC game? Well my PC can't handle that.
-
The game is fucking awesome. I just, there's so many great moments in each game.
I have to admit im fuckin soured on WWII games, but CoH redefines WWII games, period.

Corny, this game won't make you love RTS games, for sure, but at least it really tries to rethink that same formula we've been losing to Korea against since Warcraft 1. For genre fans, it's a good shakeup that will undoubtedly be pillaged for ideas for the next ten years until we're all incredibly sick of it.

That picture is actually pretty indicative of the average mid-game mega-skirmish. :o
-
So it's a PC game? Yep, I really doubt I would be able to run it as pretty as that. Which is why I like consoles, the only thing anyone ever needs is expansion packs or removable HDs

Play Phantom Dust. :hyper

god I wish. My Xdude is as dead as Boogie's erections and a CERTAIN COMPANY WHO SHALL REMAIN NAMELESS refuses to add it to the 360 BC list. Me and MAF have been pining about this unpleasant fact for awhile.

after having read Corny's bitter posts for a year and a half , it's EERIE to watch him and Drinky of all people reply to one another in harmony :o
-
we're not in harmony, cigarillo. we're just angrier at the REST OF YOU for the time being.

Haha, I think MikeWorks will testify the fact that I was a big ol Pain in the Ass I was in Phantom Dust matches lol.

*I'll* testify to that, although Mike Works flipping out at you was hilarious.
I miss our knife duels :(

I want COH, but I know that 2 weeks after I buy it the price will drop to $30, so I'm waiting.
-
I'd buy it, but my PC sucks, and I'm not upgrading until TF2 hits at the earliest.

Hey! My erections are fine! I just have nothing to DO with them!

RTS = best gaming genre of all time. Only true gaming pros can take on a good RTS and show it off ;)
People who hate RTS are just people who like simple games, usually with one character or very few. Now commanding an army unit for unit.. that's hardcore!

Company of Heroes is amazing. I was playing a game online last night and well yeah we still fight AI cause its tough an I dont have time for the RTS rivalries that tend to arise from online gaming. I mean, im a casual, I am NEVER going to be 'good' at this game.
The AI pushed us all the way back to our bases. Swarming, the mini-map was all red. I was out of ammo supplies so my special tanks equipped with the rockets couldnt even fire their o so deadly barrage.
So I hauled my tanks back to base, most were close to being smoking wrecks, formed 8 engineer teams and began a last ditch effort to WIN. I then created 4 mortar teams. My team members other base was holding off the advance of 6 tanks and a shitload of infantry. I knew they couldnt do it alone tho so I moved my mortar teams behind a house for cover and started dropping on the germans flank. By the time they figured out what was going on I had 2 shermans equipped with rockets, and one tank destroyer assaulting the enemys flank. OMG awesome! With our combined efforts we pushed them out of our territory.
But it didnt stop there. My team mate used his light armored cars and infantry to secure points as I use a creeping technique of tanks in front mortar teams in back to eradicate what was left of the german forces.
I think the best moment of the game was when the germans, out of supplies, people, everything, sent all their infantry to my forward command post only to find every allied tank on the field converge on them from every direction. The visual of them scattering and dying was so great.

I'm playing Tales of Destiny II (that's Eternia for you fegs), and I'm on the third disc. Nearing the end. But the game is like, hey here's some bosses you can take out with ease. No problem.
Then you come to the next boss, who runs you over like shit on a tire. I'm like, where did this come from? I just want to finish this game, don't get difficult on me!
And I played some Oblivion. Long way to the 1000 points.
Gameznflix sent me Lego Star Wars II. Still no Okami. I don't think they're gonna send me Okami. I'll check the local rental place.
